On a cul-de-sac in a good, safe, flat neighborhood in the geographic center of The City; recently, Time Out listed our hood as the 27th coolest in the world.
Guests have said: "great value"; "cozy"; "We appreciated Howard's map and list of suggested places to eat"; "comfy beds and very quiet which made for great sleeping."

The bedroom has a queen bed. The (larger) sitting room has a single bed, which looks sort of like a sofa, as well as a real sofa. Both rooms look out at the garden. Powder-room-size bathroom with walk-in shower. WiFi. Cable TV with Netflix et al. Wood floors.
Excellent bus connections: Downtown/Beach; Marina/MIssion. Easy walk to Golden Gate Park, Laurel Village, Clement St., and to two foodie destinations: Arsicault (best croissants in the country); Arguello Market (best sandwich—turkey—in The City). Also nearby: a classic diner, many coffee shops and restaurants, post office, pharmacy, banks, FedEx, and gas station.
Please note: no stove—alcove has microwave and mini-fridge and electric kettle, Braun coffee maker, and toaster, and glasses, dishes, and utensils. BBQ in backyard.

Summary: Nice basement apartment. Small wet bar/minimalist kitchen. Small bathroom shower with excellent water pressure. Very comfortable bed. Cute backyard with flowers and patio table. An excellent experience in a wonderfully quiet neighborhood on the west side of the city.

Summary: Howard is a great host. Left us a list of nearby restaurants and services. The neighborhood was quiet and felt safe. Very walkable. I probably would not say there was a kitchen in the unit. It was more like a kitchenette. But overall we really enjoyed our stay!

Summary: It was a nice retreat after a busy day in the city. Pretty centrally located but still used an Uber to get around since we are older. Was not as close to some spots as I thought it would be but very well worth it. Felt very safe and was very quiet. A little outdated but was great for us if not looking for high class. The owner was wonderful and helpful.

Summary: This is a fabulous neighborhood. Great location. A few blocks from Golden Gate park. Beautiful (Safe) street. Best of all you can park in the garage!! In SF that is amazing!!Lovely 1 bedroom apartment, with large living room which has an extra bed, couch, table perfect for two. "Kitchenette" has sink, small refrigerator/freezer, toaster, microwave, coffee maker, hot water pot, utensils, cutting board etc. Perfect for accommodating snacks and take out meals. You're not going to full on cook here but no need as there are plenty of tasty restaurant/takeaway options nearby and of course all over the city.The owner lives upstairs and is a perfect host. Available and helpful. This is a really nice set up. Highly recommend!

Summary: My 2 daughters and I stayed at this sweet property for a week touring schools around the Bay area. Howard- the owner-was helpful and kind. The location was great walking distant to Golden Gate park with a lot of cute restaurants and coffee shops nearby. I highly recommend.

Summary: This property was located in a lovely, quiet neighborhood. It was an easy walk to some awesome restaurants. Howard gave us a great welcome packet with suggestions for neighborhood spots and a map to make it easier. The central location was a great home base for exploring San Francisco.
