The farm consists of a sloping area of 2.5 hectares at 1km distance from the center of Cercal do Alentejo. There are fruit trees, olive trees, cork oaks and 2 authentic Alentejo farmhouses. The houses are adapted to the comfort of today. One is inhabited by us and the other is for rent to people who like the tranquility of nature, but don't want to be too far from civilization.
The home is detached and comprises a living room, bathroom, 2 bedrooms and 2 terraces. It is modern and suitable for 4 people. The house is rented all inclusive (gas, water, electricity, wood for the stove and bed, bath and kitchen towels/linen).
The immediate surroundings of the quinta, consists of comparable parcels, mostly inhabited by genuine Portuguese farmers. Our quinta is a small two hours drive from Lisbon and Faro.
The house is located 10 km from the Atlantic coast witch is still very quiet.

Summary: We spent there 3 nights in the winter time and it was amazing. Very friendly dogs, my kids spent time with sheep's, rabbits, chickens and guinea pigs. All the time was busy:)) A bit cold and wet inside the house in the winter time, but overall everything was amazing. Amazing gardens with oranges! Very friendly host, also we had earlier check in and welcome presents.

Summary: If you love nature, animals and quiet, Quinta da Boavista is a perfect spot to relax and enjoy life at its best. Sabine is a very nice host and her proposal is very good value for money. I recommend it!

Summary: We loved our stay here. The location was ideal and the accommodations were wonderful. Sabine and her husband were welcoming hosts but left us to enjoy a quiet, relaxing respite on our Algarve vacation. Nice touches included a delicious bottle of welcoming wine and some farm fresh eggs. The rooms and bathroom were all well appointed and the beds were very confortable. Cercal is a great little town with some excellent cafes.. This was the perfect home base for discovering Porto Covo and points south. Highly recommend it. Thank you Sabine!

Summary: Hens with quiet cooing calls were an unexpected discovery, wish we'd recorded their soothing voices. Don't worry, there are NO roosters to disturb your sleep! We swung open the shutters - after we'd slept 12 full hours - sunlight streamed in and we saw sheep just beyond the cottage fence. You really feel in a different place and it's wonderful. Though daytime temperatures were really warm in mid-September, we felt a little cool inside in the late evening as we had only summer clothes (and our apartment at home is overly warm). Our hosts provided pine cones and cork wood for the heater and we kept cozy. Didn't need the heater after that as we got used to cooler evenings. It is just a few minutes' drive to a good butcher/talho and groceries. Fruit and veg at the supermarket Littoral in Cercal were past their prime, though their bread and buns were good, but there is an alternative store near the butcher. It is tiny and crammed full but has fresher produce. Park at the downtown cemetery and walk to small shops just steps away. Sabine and her family were friendly and warm people, great hosts, but you also have complete privacy plus one sunny area and one shady area to yourself. Watch the birds eating figs or pick a few apples and just relax. We could easily come back for another visit as we made it our base for touring the area by car and really enjoyed our week here. Thank you!

Summary: Our second stay at Quinta Boavista and it did not disappoint. We never usually go back to somewhere that we have been to before but made an exception here. We enjoyed our visit as much this time if not more than before. We find Quinta Boavista perfect for a relaxing holiday. There are plenty of beaches and places to visit in the nearby vicinity. Sabine, Dries and family are very welcoming and accommodating. Easy to visit from both Faro and Lisbon. There are plenty of restaurants to try in Cercal, Vila Nova de Milfontes, Porto Cove and Sines. We have been back home nearly a fortnight now and can honestly say we miss Quinta Boavista and the Alentejo very much. I can see a third visit will be happening.

Summary: The farm of Quinta Boavista is set in such a peaceful, private and beautiful little valley and is the perfect place to have a relaxing holiday. Dries and Sabine and family made us feel really welcome from the start. The cottage has everything you need is tastefully decorated and was very clean and well cared for. The small town of Cercal is close at hand and has various shops, restaurants and a supermarket. The town is untouristy and has an authentic Portugese feel to it. There are many beautiful beaches close to hand to explore and they were certainly not crowded when we visited. The property is easily visited from either Lisbon or Faro. We have never visited the same place twice, but may well make an exception here.

Summary: We are a family of three and we were looking for somewhere within easy reach of Villanova and all its beaches and restaurants. We couldn't have been happier with Quinta Boavista. Sabine and Dries were great hosts - as were their incredibly friendly dogs Nelson and Lola. It felt like we were really living on a little Portuguese farm - which we were! The main house is slightly separated from where guests stay, so you have lots of privacy. The main room is large, lovely and cool if it gets hot. The patio and garden are very pretty and there is a hammock for enjoying the sun. The bedrooms are on the small side but very cosy and any family of four would be perfectly comfortable in them. Plus there are all the farm animals - its a great place for little kids, though our son is 8 and he really enjoyed all that too. The local village of Cercal, whilst not a major tourist destination, has all the things you might need in a pinch - cafes, supermarket etc - and is a 15 minute or 5 minute drive away. In short, this is a great little place if you have a car and are looking for a base to jump off from to explore the Alentejo and Algarve West Coast. It's great value too. Strong recommend. Summary: What a great place and a wonderful location. This classic Alentejo farmhouse, set in a small verdant valley, feels so remote, in a world of its own, that you can’t believe you are a mere three minutes drive or, better still, fifteen minutes walk from Cercal and all its amenities: supermarkets, banks, cafés etc. The house, one of two buildings, is on a five acre quinta. There are a myriad of fruit trees and animals - goats, rabbits, ducks and hens - all managed by the owners, who live in the other house and are on hand if needed. The house has been recently restored; it is well equipped and has modern furniture. Just 20 minutes drive away are the glorious beaches of the Atlantic coast, which were always deserted.. And Cercal, a typical, unpretentious Alentejo town, features amongst its many bar/restaurants one that serves what must be the best value meal in Portugal! Ask Sabina. We’ve never really gone to the same place twice in all our 30 years of traveling, but would make a real exception here - friendly and accommodating hosts - a fantastic, relaxing, holiday home.
