Welcome to Down East! Harkers Island is a tidy, friendly area, still unspoiled by all the “McMansions” dotting the coast nowadays. If peace and tranquility are what you’re looking for…and fishing…lots of fishing…congratulations--you’ve found your happy place!
This bright, comfy, well-appointed 2BR, 1BA home comfortably sleeps 6 people. There are 2 Queen beds in one BR and 1 Queen in the other. All beds come equipped with a remote-controlled tilting mechanism so you can sleep comfortably. Prepare meals for the family in the fully equipped kitchen. Eat dinner inside in front of the massive picture windows overlooking the sound and Brown Island, or dine outside on the huge screened-in porch and watch the hundreds of birds fly by daily on their regular flight path. Play a board game, read a book, play the piano, have a delicious cocktail on the porch swing, walk to the end of the island and explore the trails at the Core Sound Waterfowl Museum, go swimming, go fishing (did we mention fishing?)—whatever you do, relax and enjoy yourself!
We provide a starter kit of toilet paper and paper towels. We also provide basic spices in the kitchen, dish and hand soaps, coffee filters, linens and towels. Bring your mosquito repellent!

Summary: We really enjoyed our stay the house was fully equipped with everything you can think of for cooking. The view was amazing! The beds were really comfortable. Our family will definitely stay here again very soon!

Summary: Fantastic communication and easy to get around to everything. Due to the hurricane, there were a lot of mosquitos, but that’s not anyone’s fault.

Summary: We loved staying here for a few days as we boated and fished around harkers island. 5min from cape pointe marina boat ramp. Space in the driveway for our truck and boat trailer. Mosquitos and noseeums get bad at dusk and into the night, across the island - we appreciated the screened in porch. No issues at all with the house or amenities. We will be back!

Summary: The home was exactly as advertised, and a perfect setup for three of us on a guys getaway weekend of fishing and golf. Minor quibble is we required to take our own trash and recycling to the dump 7 miles away. Not a huge deal, but definitely less than ideal. Overall a great stay!

Summary: This house had everything you’d need for a stay on the island. We just need to our clothes and food. Very clean, comfortable and setup well. 30+ minutes to Morehead and Atlantic Beach. There’s a boat launch less than 10 minutes away (4.5 miles). We would definitely stay again!
