Positive: lovely property with swiming pool. good breakfast from 9-11am

Negative: our double room was very small for two and bathroom was private but outside the bedroom. only seperation from other rooms was a curtain. lacked privacy. no airconditioning or fans despite the exterior temperature of 37 degrees. Very uncomfortable. This was room number 301 upstairs.

Positive: It was an exceptionally beautiful historic house and garden. It was family run, current host was a lovely young woman, Ana. The location is in the Bairrada Wine region and Ana was able to assist in guiding us to wineries in the area. The was a nice breakfast and dinner was available on request.

Positive: Very good breakfast and Silvia graciously and expertly looked after my gluten allergy. Nice pool for a pleasant swim (without much chlorine (I have allergy tyo that too!).

Negative: The location was a little difficult to find. The GPS brought us to the area but not the exact location. We had to ask some (quite obliging) locals to get right to Silvia's place.

Summary: Super hostess. Good food. Classic house with character. Ask for an upper room.
