Positive: Modern, nice and comfortable house, very clean, all we needed was there. We were a family of 8 adults plus one infant and stayed for one week. All had good space. The host, Rui, was very helpful in our requests. The cherry on the top was the ever changing view of the Duoro Valley. We can surely recommend the property.

Positive: Rui is a gracious and conscientious host. He rearranged his schedule to accommodate our late arrival, welcomed us warmly with charcuterie and wine, and made it easy to enjoy a relaxing few days in his hilltop home. A labor of love, this stone home sits high above the Duoro Valley and has amazing views. A guidebook of his favorite restaurants and wineries was provided but Rui made it easy to get answers to any other inquiries we might have. The bedrooms are spacious with large picture windows looking out over the valley. The bathrooms are well appointed. The Wi-Fi is great too. We loved that Rui encouraged us unwind and enjoy his home. If the weather had allowed, a dip in the pool with a view would have been on the list.
Negative: A consequence of its gorgeous location, a windy road and narrow approach. But it is doable and once done, you will feel empowered.
Summary: Quinta do Fraguil is an awesome retreat for relaxing and exploring.

Positive: We were so lucky to book this property in time for our Douro trip! I must begin by saying that the host is as gracious and helpful as a traveler could ever hope for! He made *every* effort to help arrange activities and reservations and make suggestions that fit our needs. We even spent a lovely day with him as our guide. Moving onto the property, we couldn't believe our eyes when we saw the breathtaking location and the beautiful, well-appointed house and property. We only stayed 2 days, but I wish we had known to spend a week. This was the most relaxing part of our trip to Portugal, and it was a highlight. We took a bit of a chance on a new listing, but my family and I cannot recommend this property highly enough!
Negative: There is nothing not to love about this property. I imagine it's wonderful at any time of the year.
