Positive: What an experience. The room was beautiful and perfect for the three of us. The bathroom felt very luxury and the shower was very good. The family prepared a lovely dinner of curries for us which was one of the best curries we have had. The breakfast was also lovely and we all left very full of food. The rainforest tour was amazing and swimming under a waterfall was a real highlight. This trip is a must

The family room was just as describedโ€”clean, cozy, and impeccably tidy, exactly like the photos. What made our stay even more special was the delicious and authentic Sri Lankan food we were treated to, including traditional Aurudu sweets that added a lovely festive touch. The hosts are a generous, warm-hearted, and incredibly friendly family who go above and beyond to make you feel right at home. Their kindness and hospitality made our experience truly memorable. Positive: Friendly staff and nice location. Delicious food.
Negative: The access road to the car park is narrow. A car with low ground clearance won't be able to reach the destination. The owner had cancelled my booking as no show on last morning. When inquired about it they mentioned that it was a mistake.

Positive: We stayed here for two nights, doing a guided tour in between. It was a super good stay. Usually, the owner himself does the guided tour. In our case, he was already booked, so his father guided us. He was a great guide, with a lot of love for the forest and a lot of knowledge after guiding people around for already over 20 years. After the tour, we had delicious food, served at the new guesthouse of the owners brother (Wildlife Kingdom, we did not sleep there but it looked also very comfortable with a great view). All other meals were also prepared by the owners wife, and after spending two weeks in Sri Lanka we can say that that was the best food we have had so far! We stayed on the top floor, which was very comfortable. Of course, being close to nature means there will be insects, so be prepared for that ;) Thank you for hosting us!

Positive: Our stay at the Rainforest River Bay was amazing! The family is really nice and helped us with everything. The food and tea was exceptional. We did a tour through the rainforest with Kasun (the owner of the guesthouse). He has a huge knowledge about the forest, its plants and animals. Thank you for the lovely weekend we really enjoyed it!!

Positive: We stayed at this guesthouse on a motorcycle trip and were surprised when Booking provided a free upgrade to a fantastic family room! It was on the top 2nd floor with two big balconies. One balcony is a spacy private lobby area that has a big table, TV, sofa, and armchairs - perfect for relaxing after rainforest adventures. Keep in mind, the budget room on the first floor is much smaller and located next to the kitchen on the 1st floor. The location is amazing! Set right on a natural turn of the Gin Ganga river, it offers a true jungle experience, especially in the evenings and nights. It's much quieter here compared to the crowded areas near the Sinharaja forest entrance. There's one minor thing to consider - there's a local school right in front, so it can get a little noisy in the mornings around 7-8am. However, we woke up at 6am anyway to watch the birds (and there were plenty to photograph!). The last 100 meters between the road and the guesthouse can be a bit challenging if you arrive in a small car. However, it's fine for a tuk-tuk or motorcycle. The owners were fantastic. Breakfast was delicious, and they offered amazing local dinners for a very reasonable price (1500 Rs per person). We also tried their pot of tea (300 Rs) and it was unlike anything we've ever had - simply fantastic! Kasun and his father are experienced guides and they can lead you on rainforest walks. Overall, this guesthouse was a perfect escape for our Sinharaja adventure. Highly recommended!

Positive: Wonderful family and a great place to stay. The room is the entire top floor, there's a living area, seperate bedroom and balcony. Definitely great value for money. Perfect location close to the start of the rainforest trekking path. The food cooked by the family is fantastic, huge portions and really tasty. I did the rainforest trek with the host and he was great, he will spot animals out of nowhere, quite amazing.
Summary: Great place to stay run by an even better family.
