This 5 bedroom, 4 bathroom Hill Country vacation home rests on 12 secluded acres and is perfect for large groups. Our stone and cedar retreat with Saltillo tiles and pecan floors is centrally located in the heart of wine country, breweries, wedding venues, live music, dive bars, shopping and even a world renowned BBQ restaurant. Centrally located, we are 12 miles from historic Wimberley, 13 miles from Dripping Springs, 11 miles from I-35 (at Kyle, TX exit) and 29 miles from Austin.
Rancho Escondido’s spacious family room, 2 dining rooms, modern kitchen, central courtyard, private nooks and game room accommodate guests for meals, relaxation, or recreation. Plenty of outdoor space for walks, cookouts, swimming or fire pit conversations and wine sipping.
Check out the cool game room with just about everything you can think of including a pool table, shuffleboard, flat screen TV with surround sound and DVD player as well as a wet bar with ice maker to create your own private club. The game room is accented with wood walls, pressed tin ceilings, stained glass, neon signs and inlaid ceiling repurposed from an old wall from a turn of the century saloon. If you get hungry while watching a movie, heat up a pizza in the pizza oven or pop some popcorn in the microwave.
Don’t miss the Hays City Store only one mile away with excellent comfort food, full bar and live music. The best fried shrimp ever!
CHECK-IN/OUT TIMES: Check-in time is 4:00 pm and check-out time is 10:00 am. Luggage storage is unavailable while the home is being prepared for your arrival. We recommend making travel plans accordingly.
SELF CHECK-IN REQUIREMENTS: All reservations will be required to sign a rental agreement and provide Hills of Texas Lodging with a valid credit card to be placed on file for their stay. In lieu of charging a damage deposit or non-refundable damage waiver, a temporary hold of $350 will be placed on a credit card upon arrival for incidentals (just like they do at hotels). We are basically just verifying with your financial institution that sufficient funds are available in the event they were needed to cover property damage(s). If there are no property damages, the card will not be charged.
AGE REQUIREMENT: Everyone participating in the reservation must be over age 25 or if accompanied by their parent or legal guardian.
MAX OCCUPANCY: The maximum capacity for this home is 12 guests (including children). No visitors or day guests are allowed. Only the guests registered in this reservation are allowed onsite. If it is discovered that guests are over occupying the property, it will result in eviction.
PET POLICY: Pets are not allowed at this property under any circumstance.

Summary: Pool was dirty and had algae buildup. We spent some time scrubbing the pool prior to use. I have a pool at home so i know what to do and how it should be cared for. Also, garbage cans were completely full. Not sure when trash service is/was for the site but i feel each guest should start off their stay with the ability to put waste into containers.

Summary: We enjoyed our stay. The pool, hot tub, outdoor area are great. The house is surrounded by nature. But, it is in need of care. Two of the bedrooms are tiny. The master is huge. Bathrooms need repairs and cleaning. The kitchen needs repair and cleaning. And a thorough organizing to get rid of old stuff and take inventory. The Gameroom was a favorite of the boys. But, needs repair and getting rid of things that don’t work. The ice maker did not make ice while we were there. And, the refrigerator does not have an ice maker. Even though we enjoyed ourselves, we had to call for utensils and dishwasher soap. The owner lives next door and responded to our needs. This property needs some TLC.

Summary: Stayed here for a low-key bachlorette party and it was perfect! Pool is bigger than it looks. gated backyard for kids to run around if you have them, lots of separated space so the perfect family home to be together but have your own personal space. We loved it! All the girls + moms kept complimenting how nice it was! Air conditioner could be set lower by cleaning staff when prepping, it was quite hot the first night when we arrived, the windows upstairs were left open so i'm sure that did not help either. But, we loved our stay!!!

Summary: The pool was great. Water not too warm or cool. Shade around pool from trees after about 3. Fire pit area great. Plenty of bedrooms. A few disatisfiers. Gnat and spider problem. We made up our own gnat traps with Apple cedar vinegar. One of the downstairs bathrooms needs to be gutted and replaced. And no WiFi. Contacted property manager twice. They responded after second e mail that they contacted the owner but then heard nothing more. With 4 adults and one trying to get caught up on work and 6 teens this was a bit of a problem.

Summary: We had a great long weekend at this house. The property is conveniently located near San Marcos and Wimberley. The house is spacious and the game room was a bonus. We really enjoyed the backyard and pool. I also enjoyed the artwork throughout the house. We will definitely consider this home next time we get together for a long weekend trip.

Summary: House was just as advertised. Perfect for family with kids of all ages. So much to do while staying at the house or visiting towns nearby. Only issue we had was that the lockbox was jammed and we could not access key. While we got into the house, we did not hear back from the property management company for hours after arrival. If a door had not been left unlocked in the back of the house we would have been stranded. Except for that hiccup, everything else was great! If you rent this place, just work hard on the lockbox and it will open.
