Summary: My room had a very steep open tread staircase up to the bedroom. All sorts of people would not have found it suitable. I was there on a Monday. The bar and restaurant was closed. I would not have booked if i'd known.

Summary: This place was incredible. The history, the renovations, the quality, the service, the food, everything was amazing. We will definitely stay here again. Parking provided by hotel was excellent, there was a turn down service that was super cute. Great walking to the square.

Summary: The hotel was beautiful. The staff was wonderful. Everyone was so nice and helpful. The town is just quaint and friendly. I would definitely visit this town. If you are in the area it was one of my favorite places in the Netherlands.

Summary: Luxurious hotel right in the heart of Gouda. Extremely clean, staff very friendly and helpful. Winter buffet breakfast at 15€ each excellent value for a wide selection of high quality food.

Summary: To get to the elevator you need to walk through the dining room and the kitchen (literally through the kitchen) which was very odd. The hotel was very clean, the rooms very nice and cosy and the staff very friendly. The place is a bit spooky, especially if you consider that it is an old orphanage, but nothing to worry about

Summary: We made a last minute decision to spend a night in Gouda en route to Utrecht & chose this hotel because the pix of this historic building looked lovely. From arriving at the beautiful building we were enchanted. The hotel (we learned) was 4 years in creation, and now has been open 4 years. The care, thought, imagination shows in everything. Our room was at the top of the hotel (one of their two level rooms) decorated with flair, wonderfully comfortable bed & cozy bedding, excellent shower, roomy sitting area, blissfully quiet. The rest of this hotel is imaginatively decorated: each area has its own character from sophisticated dining room to plush lounging areas. But perhaps best of all? The staff is so warm, welcoming and thoughtful. Lastly, location is ideal for exploring all the sights of historic Gouda. We enjoyed stepping out of the hotel and into the heart of the most charming area of Gouda. The Relais & Chateau of Gouda is definitely s one of a kind place to stay: an outstanding choice for visiting Gouda.
