Summary: This is a beautiful, special place to stay. Ruggero and Rosa are brilliant, friendly, gracious hosts. The Cilento region is a natural wonder, with many incredible historic sites nearby, such as Paestum.

Summary: We thoroughly enjoyed staying here - the owner was friendly and courteous without being at all intrusive, and even donated to us one of his bottles of red wine! The views were stunning - the coast in one direction and the hills and olive trees in the other. The apartment is beautifully built with a large stone terrace and well-equipped with plenty of hot water. A fly screen over the bedroom window ensures you can leave the window open at night without fear of being assaulted by mosquitoes. You definitely need a car staying here: the only restaurant within walking distance is Il Capriccio and as we were here out of season, it was closed. However, we did find other places to eat and we enjoyed the other effect of being out of season - warm balmy weather and few people. Castellabate is incredible - a Medieval town clinging onto the top of a hill with narrow winding passageways filled with bougainvillea, giant rubber plants and huge terracotta pots, presided over by the basilica. Santa Maria di Castellabate and Agripoli are both within 20 minutes' drive, and well worth visiting. The beaches are stunning, especially Baia Arena. Paestum is definitely worth a visit - the ruins are breathtaking and the museum is full of artefacts and explanations in English as well as Italian. We'd highly recommend this as a place to stay - it was just beautiful.

Summary: The location is excellent - less than 10 minutes by car to Castellabate center. The view from the front terrace and garden is very nice, the coastline below and the surrounding area, with beautiful sunsets, and a sofa and 2 deckchairs on the terrace to enjoy and relax. Privacy is great. The apartment is luxurious, with a well-equipped kitchen, including lots of things such as olive oil, coffee, drinks, and much more. The apartment is very clean and well-maintained. Ruggero and his wife Rosa were warm and welcoming, treated us to figs and almonds from their garden, and helped with restaurant reservation. The final stretch of road leading to the house is a bit worn down and with pot holes, but parking is on the front lawn right next to the front door, which is very convenient. Wifi is available, but the signal is not too strong. It is a very good place to relax, and can also serve as base for day tours to the coast, Agropoli, Paestum, Cilento National Park and other nearby sites.

Summary: Staying in this flat, on a hill side amongst olive trees, is like spending few days in a Mediterranean paradise. The views of the valley and the sea are wonderful, and every evening we sat on the veranda, with a glass of wine, at sunset to see the sun disappear in the sea. In 10/15 minutes we could reach a wide variety of lovely sandy beaches and sea side historical towns. The nearby town of Castellabate, built on the very top of a hill, in a web of characteristic lanes, passages and twittens, offers typical restaurants and cultural events. The hosts are generous, impeccable and sophisticated, they offered us a taste of the produces of their gardens ... We will come back!
