Relax, rejuvenate & retreat at Chacra De La Paz, Spanish for "little peaceful ranch" while you enjoy Gardiner, New Paltz & the surrounding areas. Nestled in the mountains on 12 private acres with no visible neighbors or car traffic this modern home allows you to truly get away from it all and enjoy the moment. This is a dog & child friendly home open to everyone regardless of their race, religion, national origin, ethnicity, disability, gender identity or sexual orientation.

The recently remodeled modern home is light filled, built for maximum indoor/outdoor living and furnished minimally to showcase the brand new construction & sense of possibility. This is going to be a great stay!
Welcome! Arrive, kick off your shoes, get comfortable and start a cozy fire in the wood stove. Grill up a feast on the 72" wood and gas grill the in the indoor/outdoor Argentine grill and dining area known in Spanish as a Quincho! Or cook up something special in the open floor plan gourmet kitchen equipped with 6 burner gas stove, wall mounted oven, extra convection oven and warming drawer.
After dinner enjoy the 8 person hot tub while gazing at the stars, nestle up in front of the fire or pop some popcorn in the movie style popcorn machine & enjoy a projected movie on a 91" screen with surround sound.
You'll wake up refreshed from your sleep to the beautiful mature trees outside your windows. Feel free to cook a light breakfast or just hop into the car and grab a bite in the hamlet of Gardiner at the Village Market or Cafe Mio. The day is all yours!
This home is stocked with everything you need to have an incredible experience.
If you need extra space we have a one bedroom apartment, private yet adjacent to the main house, exclusively available to those renting the house. Ask for details.
We are sorry but we don’t allow weddings. However, if the wedding venue is nearby we would love to host you.
Sleeping distribution:
- 4 pp in master bedroom with king bed and day bed
- 2 pp in 2nd bedroom with king bed
- 4 pp in 3rd bedroom with trundle and bunk bed
- 4-6 pp in attic bedroom with king bed, full size futon and 2 floor mattresses
Additionally there’s a very comfy sofa in the media room (3 pp) and the living room has 2 sofas (2 pp).
Lastly we have an apartment available. It’s adjacent to the house yet very private and available exclusively when you rent the house (i.e. if you don’t book it it will remain empty). Pics upon request.

Summary: Great private property with lots of comfortable space for a large group. We had 8 people and all very comfortable in the beautiful updated home. We enjoyed grilling in the indoor/outdoor patio, the hot tub and fire pit. We had an issue with the water, but Pablo promptly responded and had it resolved quickly. We had everything we needed! Summary: We thoroughly enjoyed our stay in this beautiful home. We were only here for a long weekend as we were attending a wedding nearby but we hope to return for a longer visit.We were a party of six including an infant, three year old and small dog. Plenty of room for everyone including the upstairs loft. The home was very clean and is furnished beautifully. It includes upscale kitchen appliances, plenty of linens and lots of games in a spacious gameroom (with pool table) downstairs. There is even a piano! The bedrooms and bathrooms were large and comfortable and nicely furnished. Two large tables can easily accomodate larger groups at mealtimes.The pool looked wonderful but the weather was too cool for us to use. The grounds are spacious and we could watch deer wander in the distance.The town of Gardiner is lovely and we had fun picking apples and pumpkins in the numerous nearby orchards.The host was extremely responsive and helpful even before we arrived, furnishing us with a detailed list of restaurants, grocery stores and activities nearby.We heartily recommend this property.

Summary: This is simply a great house--the pictures don't really convey the spaciousness or artistry of the design. We ate our meals at the long table in the large indoor/outdoor dining room and enjoyed the huge grill and outdoor deck area. Once the sliding doors are open, it feels as though you are outside. The sunken living room and fireplace offer the opposite experience for when you want a cozy, comfortable indoor space. The beds are comfortable and there were plenty of fluffy towels and luxury bath products in the bathrooms. And the media room and popcorn machine provided us evening entertainment without leaving the property. Pablo was immediately responsive to questions and gave us all the information we needed to make this a really memorable getaway for our family of six humans and three dogs.
