Summary: Took my boys to the cabin so we would be closer to McAfees Knob. Great place to stay. Would highly recommend and ope to stay there again to do Tinkers Cliffs.

Summary: This rural cabin provides a perfect retreat from the world while providing reasonable access to recreational activities in the area. It seemed obvious to us that the owner designed and built this house using high standards of workmanship. We appreciated the ready supply of wood for the fire pit outside. Internet service seemed stable and reliable for our purposes. Groceries and supplies need to be planned, though, as local options are basic and limited. We reduced the rating to 4 because there were two important deficiencies that need to be addressed. We have informed the owner. However, a separate review we submitted earlier was not posted to the property's web page. Therefore, we don't know if the owners have received our private feedback. This is the second occasion in which we received no response from the owner. Otherwise, this is a delightful, if remote, property which we would be glad to return to in the future.

Summary: Cabin was very nice. Outside areas needed lots of attention. Heat pump coils were black, porches and outside areas were very unkept. Inside had a bathroom sink that leaked on the hot water side. We had to keep a trashcan below to catch water. One of the sleep number beds didn’t work at all and couple rolled to middle. Could be an awesome cabin with just some TLC. We enjoyed our stay. Caretakers need to step it up!

Summary: If you want to hike VA's Triple Crown, this cabin is in a handy location. The living areas (livingroom, dining area, kitchen) are very open and nicely appointed. The kitchen is well equipped and the front porch is quiet and pleasant to sit on. However, the floors throughout the house seemed unclean, and the back patio furniture and cushions were too dirty to sit on. While the master bedroom and bath were nice, the second bedroom had only a bed and rocking chair for furniture so we had to place our luggage on the floor. The bedspread/comforter appeared unlaundered so we didn't use it. The third bedroom has bunkbeds and a desk (rather than a dresser), so we again placed luggage on the floor. The small (household) bathroom had almost nowhere to place toiletry items, and the towels and washcloths were quite well-used. These shortcomings could be overlooked if the rental price reflected the deficits, but it didn't. We paid almost as much in "fees" as we did for the rental of the cabin itself (which was not cheap). While the structure itself is attractive and quite peaceful, we'll stay elsewhere on our next visit.

Summary: This cabin was amazing! We've stayed in Gatlinburg, Pigeon Forge, and Bryson City and this was, by far, our favorite place we've stayed. The little things in the cabin (toiletries, spices, toys, dog items, etc) made the cabin felt like we were invited for some R&R at the family cabin! So wonderful!

Summary: We had a wonderful stay at the house. Wish we could have been there more during our visit. We had plans in BBurg for most of the weekend, but when we were there it was lovely. The owners provide all the necessary items for a fun stay. They have thought of everything. The kitchen is very well stocked with even spices and a few drinks in the fridge. Good parking. It can be a little daunting on the "country road taking you home" Haha. It may be alternative routes are less windy, but from BBurg to the house was a beautiful drive (but very curvy). Def would stay again.

Summary: Loved the place and its location. Loved the rocking chairs on the front porch, and the inside was gorgeous. Would definitely come here again to run away, where even my cell phone can’t reach me (no service with Verizon, but i loved that part). A few little nuisances: its a charcoal grill, not a gas grill, so bring supplies (i didn’t, so cooked everything on the stove); a note on the counter advised the dishwasher was broken (yay extra dishes from cooking on the stove); and the outdoor cushions in the back need a little care.
