Welcome to the Chicago Bungalow in Dewey Beach/Rehoboth by the Sea. This old-school Dewey Cottage is currently undergoing a complete renovation and will re-open to travelers in April of 2020. It features 5 bedrooms, 3 bathrooms, a gourmet kitchen, custom dining table for 10+, front courtyard landscaped/fenced for privacy, a lush landscaped backyard with heated, in-ground, saltwater pool. The stunning home offers old Dewey charm combined with the luxury of new construction. With multiple living spaces inside and out, there is plenty of room for several families to spread out. There is ample parking for 4+ cars, the beach is a mere steps away, and the Jolly Trolley stops a block away. Need a little more detail? Please, read on! The goals for this property were many: lots of bedrooms and comfortable, clean sleeping options, a variety of gathering spots, a gourmet kitchen featuring everything you would have at home, and seating at the table/island/work station for literally everyone. Finally, we wanted to maintain the charm of an old Dewey cottage while also updating all (ALL) amenities, so no detail has been left out here. The Bungalow has HVAC, a full sized-washer/dryer, an 80 gallon hot water heater with booster pump (NO cold showers here), an outside shower, a BIG fridge, and dishwasher that will actually clean the dishes so you can go to the beach! We have stocked the home with bean bags, bocce balls, horseshoes, pool noodles and board games galore. The mature landscaping was preserved, and we added dozens of trees, bushes, palms and pots with flowering plants. With parking for 4/5+ cars (depending what you drive), you will be able to park and walk everywhere, and as mentioned before, the Jolly Trolley stops only a block away. Summary: Absolutely amazing home for large groups and families. The pool was incredible (exceeded my high expectations) and the numerous chairs and bench made it a great place to spend time with friends and family throughout the day. The location is perfect. Steps from the beach and a nice walk to the bars and restaurants in Dewey. (And be sure to check out Fifer's Farm Kitchen next door!) The bedrooms were clean and very welcoming. The living room works well if you want to watch a game or movie. (And there are lots of cute toys and fun gadgets around -- for both kids and adults.) My only note is the bedroom with the trundle beds is not large. If you have four small children, you can absolutely get them all in there, but otherwise keep it at just two adults. Finally, it couldn't have been easier arriving and departing, and Lyn was very helpful throughout the process. Again, cannot recommend this home highly enough. Enjoy!

Summary: The house was well laid out and well thought out. It was clean and uncluttered yet had everything we needed. The location was great, and the pool made a nice addition to our stay. I never write reviews, but the owners of 118 Chicago earned kudos for their efforts.

Summary: Loved this property. The cottage was perfect for the seven of us (including four teens). Great location that was a two minute walk to the beach and very short ride to downtown Rehoboth. Farmer vegetable stand around the corner was perfect for picking up fresh fruit (melons, etc) and breakfast. Kids loved the pool. Would definitely stay here again!

Summary: Everything from the well equipped kitchen, to the M and M machine with quarters provided was great. Host was super responsive. The pool was the perfect afternoon add on after the day at the beach. We had a problem with ants but that was minor. The whole family voted A for the house

Summary: Being at a place that everyone loved so much made for a very special memory. The pool was especially popular with the grandsons aged 18-21. Having such a large kitchen/dining area made mealtime get togethers work so well. All in all it was a great week. Everyone said they wanted to go there next year!!!

Summary: Lyn’s Chicago Street Property was the perfect place for our boys last getaway before school begins. The house (Kitchen and Pool) were so immaculate and relaxing that we struggled ti leave each day for other activities. It’s a great location for beach access, Fifers and bike rides. We followed Lyn’s guide book suggestion and biked the full Junction and Gordon’s Pond trails - easy ride directly from the house. Lyn is a great host and went beyond our expectations for both our arrival and departure. Thank you Lyn!

Summary: We had a magical stay in this charming home, it truly could not have been better. The house was spotlessly clean upon check-in, and every detail we needed to know immediately was posted on the fridge. There was a thorough handbook with info on the house, town and area that was so helpful throughout our stay. The house is truly a beach bungalow, with tasteful and creative decor, comfortable beds and seating, and historical items throughout. But it is also "new" with with all the amenities you could want. The kitchen was fully stocked with everything we could imagine needing, and we loved gathering in the grate room overlooking the pool. The older kids loved playing with the old typewriter and rotary phone, and the little ones loved dollhouse. The backyard and pool were just glorious, we were able to heat it up just a little so the kids could enjoy it for hours without getting a chill. We made a fire in the firepit one night and it was the most memorable fall night our family has enjoyed in ages. Thanks for this wonderful vacation Lyn, we will definitely be back!!
