3 Bedroom Cabin in Board Camp, Mena

Come hibernate at “Bear Mountain,” a custom-built cabin complete with jetted tub! Nestled into four private acres of forest on a dead-end road, it will serve as the perfect escape to relax and unwind.
Bear Mountain is a large, luxurious cabin in the Ouachita National Forest with direct access to the Wolfpen Gap trail system. It's a perfect base camp for your adventure with close proximity to Fourche trails, Little Missouri Falls, the town of Mena, and other outdoor attractions.
Our modern rustic cabin will welcome you with the creature comforts of home in an idyllic outdoor setting. Vaulted ceilings and custom log accents make the open floorplan kitchen & living area the perfect gathering place for your group.
The home is appointed throughout with real log furniture and rustic design elements. Guests can spread out across three bedrooms and a large sleeping loft complete with bunk beds. Additionally, two log couches in the living area lay flat to round out sleeping arrangements. Two full bathrooms downstairs and one up provide convenient access for all.
Guests have the whole cabin to themselves, including the four acres of forest which surround it.
In an effort to maintain a secure premises, the cabin is equipped with a single exterior camera. The camera is ONLY on the exterior, and there are no cameras inside.
Bear Mountain is located SE of the town of Mena, with part of the trip on gravel roads. A truck/SUV, or at minimum a vehicle with a bit of ground clearance is recommended to reach the cabin (for reference, our QX60 and our cleaner's Buick Enclave make it fine). Parking is plentiful, with a circular driveway to help get ATV/UTV trailers in and out.
Also, due to the remoteness of the cabin, the only available Internet is via satellite. The Internet can be susceptible to disruption by storms, and download/upload speed are limited.

Summary: We always head to Wolfpen Gap in April of each year. We took a chance on going even with flooding rains predicted . Our host Erik gave me the option to move our trip but being from South Louisian a little rain wasn't going to ruin our trip. We couldn't have asked for better riding conditions because there was no dust and the rains held out until the evenings. If y'all get a chance, please contact Erik and book this cabin. Summary: Loved the cabin! Perfect size for our group this year! The kids loved walking up the trail on the hill, and I loved listening to the creek and birds while I enjoyed my coffee on the porch. Wonderful family dinners at the kitchen table, and plenty of ATV fun! The master bath tub is a plus also! Glad we stayed here!

Summary: This cabin was simple amazing! It is centrally located on a dead end street in the middle of the Wolf pen Gap trail system. Everything you needed was there and the owners were very friendly and super easy to deal with.

Summary: Beautiful property with enough room for everyone to spread out. Beds are comfy and they provided plenty of paper towels, toilet paper and trash bags for our stay. The 2 negatives I have is there is no pantry and the shelves are missing in the door of the fridge.

Summary: We really enjoyed our stay here! The house was very nice and matched the description well. Plenty of space, great outdoor area to hang out, cook dinner, and enjoy time with your family. We had kids with us that loved the loft area to hang out and play. Lots of space in the fully stocked kitchen. Will definitely be back 😀

Summary: This cabin was beautiful! It was perfect for our two families and had more than enough room. It was accommodating for our kids too! Ages 9-3. The trails were a lot of fun and the property owner was quick to respond and very helpful with anything! We loved staying here! One of our favorite vacations! To top it all off the last morning we saw a momma bear and her cub right outside the cabin!

Summary: The 13 of us liked the cabin very much. It was beautiful and close to the atv trails. The only problem we had with it was access from the main road. The road leading to the cabin was really tight and the drive is pretty steep for us because we were pulling a 30' trailer with 3 utv's on it. It would not be a problem with a standard 12 to 16 foot trailer.
