Short drive to Dauphin Island on the Gulf of Mexico. Come rest yourself with family in this lovely waterfront home. Secluded, private property with acreage for children to play and explore nature. Comfortable furnishings, screened porches to feel the soft breezes. Relaxing and peaceful. It has 3 bedrooms and 3 bathrooms. A large screened area for relaxing, barbecuing, or playing ping pong. You can fish from the dock, or sunbathe while viewing the river. And yes, there are alligators in the river. While they are rarely seen, the gators are there and usually as afraid of humans and we are of them.
While staying in this lovely home surrounded by lots of trees and water, there will be squirrels, deer, raccoons, birds, frogs and verbal insects (cicadas) to notice during your tranquil time here.
Dauphin Island is about 15 minutes away. You can also visit the Historic Fort Gaines, the Sea Lab and Estuarium (with some hands on attractions that will fascinate the kids). Lots of restaurants, and the freshest seafood is right next door.
The historical Bellingrath Gardens (10 minute drive) with its beautiful blooms all year is a sight to see. Takes about 30 minutes to get to Mobile with all the attractions there.

Summary: The home was just what we needed. Plenty of room for the entire family. The kids really enjoyed fishing from the pier. We really enjoyed the time together sitting inside the screened porches. Great place with plenty of room to roam!

Summary: This house and property was great for two families with kids. Lots of room inside and out, and the ping pong table downstairs was a hit. Host was very friendly and thoughtful, checking in with us before and during our stay. We will definitely suggest this house to others.

Summary: We found this gem last minute and were SO happy with it. The directions were very easy, host is great and it is a very private spot on huge lot with a brand new dock right on the water. We spent 2 nights and all 3 beds we used were super comfortable. The house inside was spotless and very nicely decorated. The back deck is upstairs on second floor and watching summer lightning storms in the distance and sunset is beautiful. We had no issues with mosquitoes which I just assumed would be a problem that close to water so that was cool. Both evenings we fished and used one of the crab cages for fun. We threw everything back but got a really nice redfish 20" and 19" flounder. Several croakers and a few small hard heads. For 3 dudes this place was AWESOME! Store is right around the corner and easy drive to/from Mobile for fishing supplies. We ate 2 times at an incredible restaurant called Bayou Seafood Company which has the BEST fried and boiled shrimp we have ever had at a really fair price. Growing up in S Texas we were surprised as it blew away the Kings Inn and Papadeuex fried shrimp which is really good if you're familiar with them. For private pilots its really close to Mobile, St. Elmo and Dauphin Island. We did have to fly out early to beat summer pop up storms but that's gulf coast in summer. Would have loved to have stayed longer. If the hosts will let us we'll def come back every chance we get. If you have kids they would LOVE the dock. AC was GREAT!

Summary: The place was clean, spacious and comfortable. We docked our boat on the new pier, caught crabs in the provided traps, foraged for 4 varieties of gourmet mushrooms on the property and had an over all fantastic trip. Gorgeous views and easy access to the bays and great fishing. And our host was fast to reply and gracious with any request we had. Could not be happier.

Summary: The house was very clean and provided everything we needed for a weeks stay. The location was perfect - less expensive than staying right on Dauphin Island but about as close as you can get with a Dollar General right down the road for last minute needs. The ping pong table was an added bonus for the kids. Would definitely stay here again! Very private.
