Summary: Only gripe is I thought from the photos we were going to have 2 queen beds in separate rooms. That wasn’t the case, but we made it work. Nice place in general!

Summary: Looking for a quiet, comfortable place to stay with access to the beautiful Guadalupe river? This was exactly what we were expecting. Yes, you had to walk about 2 minutes down concrete steps with a metal rail to the river. Once you get there, there is a concrete landing with concrete steps and rail into the river. 'Easy peasy' getting in and out and getting the kayaks available to you into the water. Upriver is the best part. There is a 'tub' (a mini eroded canyon in the limestone) with a small waterfall you can sit in and under, and relax and forget all your troubles. The house is older, but roomy and comfortable. There are neighbors that live on either side of this house. We met the older couple to our left down at the river. They were very pleasant and filled us in on the area and the history of the old house built on the bluff overlooking the river right across from where we stayed. The kitchen was roomy, had lots of utensils, more than most people may need. My only suggestion would be a new 12" skillet. The larger one on our visit had seen better days. A big plus to this property is the owner, Tina. Even though she lived elsewhere she made contact with us before, during, and on our last day to let us know if we needed anything to let here know. She even offered more time to check out if we needed it. This is a great place to 'get away', its quiet, you can see stars at night, you have a beautiful river that was hardly affected by the drought that the Hill Country was experiencing during our visit, and there are some great hamburgers at the Hunt Store that are worth the 15 minute drive.

Summary: My wife and I loved the house and the location next to the Guadalupe River, the house was just as advertised, and the location for camp pickup was perfect for us. The swimming area of the river below the house was clear and beautiful, will stay here again I’m the future.

Summary: This home was an awesome get away for our family. If you love the hill country, it is a perfect and peaceful place. It’s a nice drive through the Guadalupe River valley. Great views of the surrounding hills. Very close to the river, with private access and not too deep for the little ones. The host was very sweet and made sure our stay was a memorable one. This will definitely be a frequent of ours. ♥️

Summary: The house was great and had everything we needed or might have wanted, including kayaks, paddles, river floaties, plenty of towels, washer/dryer, fire pit in back, fenced backyard for our dog. River access involves 1-2 min of walking down path - there’s some elevation change and some stairs that may be tricky for young kids. My 5 year old managed it fine but was careful. Great place to stay!

Summary: This property is amazing to unplug from the world. If you are looking to truly remove yourself from everyday life, this is the property for you and your family! Our 24 year old daughter loved the relaxing atmosphere while our 3 year old twins loved the outdoors and open space. It is tricky to get to the first time but that's expected when you are wanting this type of experience. Water pressure not the best in the bathroom but it got the job done! Pictures do not do justice to this property. The host was very thorough and responded very quickly to any questions we had prior. This is definitely a property we'll return to during the hot months to take advantage of the river!
