Summary: This charming house was perfect for our vacation. We wanted to visit family and do some fishing. It was a visit back in time when things were so much simpler. The house had everything that we needed. We had a radio and good cellphone service. Thank you again for sharing your home.

Summary: Very comfortable cozy cottage. Private and yet close to everything. Enjoyed watching and listening to the river. My husband caught a few small trout and some larger ones that got off. We rode the Back of the Dragon and hiked up to The Channels. Enjoyed our stay.

Summary: This property is the perfect setting for relaxation. The sounds of running water and birdsong makes for a very good nights sleep. We took an exhilarating ride down the back of the dragon then had a good meal at macados in Marion. The house is older but very charming and comfortable.

Summary: The property was sweet. It is secluded, but within 5 minutes to town. When we pulled into the drive we were amazed with the storybook-like setting. The sound of the rushing river and the wildlife (bunnies, ground hogs, deer, ducks and turkeys) were so beautiful. There was ample space in the 2 bedroom home. Me, my husband, and 2 nineteen year old daughters, were very comfortable. The house was easily large enough to accommodate 12 of our family members for an evening. I believe the house could use a little TLC to address some small things, but nothing major. Also, I'm pretty picky, so I would have preferred the house be "touched up" with cleaning before we arrived. My biggest issue with the property was that the bedding was not clean. The sheets were clean, however, the blankets and other bedding were clearly not clean. Overall I would recommend this home to anyone looking for a nice, quiet, secluded little home. P.S. There is no TV or WiFi which was a plus for us, but may not be for everyone. ;-)

Summary: It's 1000 miles away from a town that's really only one mile away... No internet but trade that for a creek, a firepit and a porch with rocking chairs- and a huge yard to explore

Summary: The property looks like you are far away from town with the long circle driveway and large grassy yard with the creek running the length, but you are actually pretty close to downtown and Walmart! No TV or Wifi, but plenty of space to play monopoly on the large kitchen table. Two couches, 3 chairs in the main room. Two double beds and two twins in two bedrooms. Only one bathroom that is small, but bathtub was larger than expected. Home was very clean and towels were stocked when arrived. Kitchen is more than ample with modern conveniences. Refrigerator and Freezer looked new. Toaster, coffee pot, good assortment of utensils and silverware are there for you. You should bring your own frying pan, but most other pots, etc are there. Found some seasoning in the cabinet that was great on chicken! Open the windows and doors and let the mountain air blow through. Cellular service was fairly strong to be able to keep up with weather and news. Overall pleasant experience. Spoke briefly to owner of home. Nice guy and he answered some general questions I had about the property and the mill nearby. Old truck also near the mill makes for great photographs too. Easy check-in and check-out. Highly Recommended. 5 Stars!!!

Summary: The house was welcoming and quaint. My favorite thing in the house was the massive corner hutch - a superb, unique, antique piece. A few pictures on the listing need to be updated as furniture changes and improvements have been made. The location was superb for us - away from others, yet close to destinations; beautiful nature surround; and plenty of room to relax, play, and explore right there. The train was an interesting feature which was new to us, yet not annoying. The highway noise was not excessive or annoying, but was more than we rural-dwellers were used to. There are several great locations to pitch our small tent - which our children did one night. The wildlife was quite enjoyable - the trout, small-mouth bass, heron, rabbits, and an otter. We also enjoyed the walk to the old mill and would have loved to have known more information about the mill. Although there was much rain in the couple days before we went, we were still able to access the property in our minivan without any trouble. There is a section of the road that is not in great condition; but if you travel slowly, it is not a problem. As a last mention, the river was quite high and swift when we arrived, which was to be expected due to the recent rains. While we enjoyed some wading and playing, I would not classify it (based on our time) as a simple lazy river, and little children would need help in the water. While this house did not have a huge list of indoor extras and high-end amenities, it more than met our needs and was a perfect fit for us on our weekend get-away. The owners were great communicators and were very helpful. I would definately recommend this place!
