Are you looking for a Carolina Mountain cabin rental that features seasonal mountain and river views with upscale furnishings and décor and is close to the New River and adventurous activities while accommodating up to ten? You have found it all at RiverView Ridge, a five bedroom, three bath log cabin in the mountains of northwestern North Carolina.
From the moment you arrive you will be awe at all this cabin has to offer. A rocking chair covered front porch greets you. complete with swing and numerous rocking chairs.
The main level features an open concept floor plan with vaulted ceilings. The living area features a comfy leather sofa and two recliners. a smart TV, and a floor-to-ceiling stone fireplace with gas logs. You will love curling up to watch your favorite show or movie. Wi-Fi is provided throughout the home for those that need to check email or just connect with social media.
Just off the living area is the dining space complete with table and seating for six. The bar area features additional seating for three. The kitchen features all stainless-steel appliances including a dishwasher for quick clean up. If you don’t wish to cook inside, just step outside to the spacious deck, where you will find a gas grill for cooking out.
Also, on the main level is a primary suite complete with queen bed and ensuite bath including shower/tub combo.
Climb the steps to the upstairs area where you will find another two bedrooms with a queen bed, each and a shared hall bath with shower/tub combo.
Downstairs you will find another complete living and kitchen space complete with an additional two bedrooms each with queen beds and a shared bath with shower/tub combo. A flatscreen smart TV and comfy couch is in the living area. The kitchen features a full-size refrigerator, range, and coffeemaker. A great place for hanging out!
Just a short distance from this lovely log home, is an outpost for Zaloo’s Canoes where you can rent tubes or canoes and spend the day on the New River. Grayson Highlands State Park is just a 25-minute drive away where you can enjoy hiking or an afternoon picnic with fantastic mountain views. The towns of West Jefferson, Boone, Sparta and Wilkesboro are close by and offer unique shoppes, art galleries, and dining opportunities. For some winter fun, head to one of our three most popular ski resorts: Appalachian Ski Mtn, Sugar Mtn, or Beech Mtn.

Summary: Great house for family. 3 floors which allowed for privacy. The back porch is another entire living space and where we all gathered. Ample seating! Ca Mountain was outstanding to deal with.

Summary: We really enjoyed our stay at the cabin. There was plenty of room for eight adults. Each couple had their own bedroom with a queen bed. The deck on the back of the house was amazing. There was ample seating for everyone and the view was wonderful.

I was somewhat dissatisfied with the condition of the vacation rental. Overall, I do not recommend this vacation rental. Reviewer Comments: Overall the cabin was spacious and decorated with good taste. The winter views from the deck were nice. The staff at Carolina Mountain Properties were super nice and very helpful. We really appreciated the late checkout since we had inclement weather on the day of our departure. We found the kitchen to be lacking in basic necessities like dish soap, dishwasher soap, no sponges to clean with, only one dish towel, no cutting boards, and no mixing bowls. We have been renting vacation homes for years and years and we're pretty good at knowing what to bring when staying at someone else's home. To bring the items that were missing would have been staggering. Multiple trips to the store were needed to purchase the basics and the nearest store is 40 minutes away. The biggest complaint was the transmission of noise throughout the house. You can hear everything while in the basement rooms, especially the drain pipe. Every time the upstairs toilet is flushed or the shower is used it sounds like a waterfall is in the walls. The cabin didn't seem to have been cleaned prior to our arrival. If it had they missed the dead bugs in the bathtub, window sills, and floors. It is a beautiful home but for the cost of the rental, you'd think more attention would have been paid to having basic cleaning supplies and utensils available. The items we purchased were left at the cabin. Hopefully, the next family won't have to take time out from their vacation to resupply the cabin with the basics.
