Positive: It was a beautiful location. But we were the only guests at the property. We drove ourselves and got lost which wasn’t fun. It’s very hard to drive your omen car . It’s better to go with something organized. To get to the rooms is very steep and they take you by motor bike. We were ok with it but if you are afraid to sit in the back of a bike it can be very difficult and scary. The people were extremely helpful and nice.

Negative: To get to the property wasn’t easy . There weren’t enough signs and it’s literally in the middle of nowhere. If someone who knows the way can take you there would be ideal. It’s difficult to walk around because the road is very steep but if you font have any problem it’s ok. The views are amazing!

Positive: If you had asked me right after we arrived in the dark after 10 hours on a motorcycle what I thought of this place, I would tell you there’s no way it was worth it. But when the lovely staff labored on a home-cooked meal for us at 8pm and we got a good night’s rest on a soft bed under a princessy mosquito net and woke up to incredible views, my entire attitude changed. Having to exert considerable effort to get there made it that much more rewarding and worthwhile. Our bungalow was situated on top of a (steep) hill that allowed for privacy, the views were gorgeous, and the extra outside toilet was also a huge thrill.

Negative: As other reviewers have said, there are a few bugs, and the hill to the cabin is steep. (I thought people were just exaggerating about that part, but our motorcycle couldn’t even get up it.) Note to guests: GoogleMaps couldn’t figure out where we were on the drive, so it lost our location. If you can, try a different navigation system (and don’t arrive in the dark like we did). Maps.me worked wonders for us in the end.

Positive: A fantastic and memorable 3 nights, with an amazing team running the property who were so helpful. A big thank you to them! The location is superb- it’s remote; 10-12 kms from the main road, but the drive up the mountain pass is amazing. The rooms have speculator views across the valley. The food was great, especially the hot pot, which we had a couple of times. There are good places to walk/trek from the resort, and the locals are so hospitable. Hoang Su Phi is an hours drive, which has an amazingly colourful market on Sundays. The western side of Ha Giang is far quieter, more remote and less touristy than the eastern side, but this is likely to change once the roads are repaired.

Negative: The walk to the rooms is very steep and long so could be a challenge for some, especially the elderly. Some chairs in the room/balcony would also be a nice addition.

Summary: A lovely property in an amazing area to explore. Highly recommended!
