Summary: We have now stayed a few times at Bishops Rest & it gets better each time. The antiques, collectibles & stylish interior set this apartment apart. It's not surprising the owner was a well known Basel interior designer. The beautiful riverfront garden creates a peaceful haven in a charming Swiss village. We hope to return again next year. Highly recommended.

Summary: From the moment we arrived at Bishop's Rest, it was everything and more than we expected. Patrick had waited to welcome us and show us around our accommodation which was very comfortable, clean and well presented with bags of character and style. The extensive gardens run down to and alongside a river which is not only visually stunning but simply a beautiful place to sit and read and relax. A dip in the river was sufficiently reviving to enable us to dance in the evening at an excellent local music event. Patrick recommended we ate at the Buffet de la Gare in Porrentruy which we did and the food was very good indeed. We would definitely recommend Bishop's Rest to family and friends. Actually, the whole property could be reserved for friendly gatherings. The train stops at Courchavon which is only a short walk away. We are already looking forward to our next visit.

We (Two adults and one dog) arrive the apartment and a bottle of wine was waiting for us and of course water in the fridge. Thanks for that Patrick. The apartment is extremetely clean and confortable wíth all you need after a long day to feel like to be at home. The house and outdoor area are a perfect way to relax and enjoy the little river. Thank you again for everything!

Summary: We spent a very enjoyable 10 days at Bishop's Rest at the end of July. Patrick is a charming, helpful and considerate host. The ground floor apartment is clean, well-furnished and equipped with everything required for a comfortable stay. It is an ideal location for walkers with a network of well signposted walking trails starting 50 metres from the house. The proximity of a train station with a regular hourly service allows easy access to many destinations in north west Switzerland. Ideal for those wishing to leave the car at "home". Bishop's Rest is a great place to relax and "recharge the batteries" and a place where Monty(the black and white Springer Spaniel) and I hope to return in the near future.

Summary: I can wholeheartedly confirm all of the good things that have already been said about Bishop's Rest. My husband, our son, and I occupied the two charming rooms on the ground floor for the weekend. Having the extensive, well-maintained grounds surrounding the lodging made the stay particularly relaxing and comfortable. Patrick was a gracious host, providing an easy and informative check-in, a delicious breakfast each morning, and lots of interesting conversation. From Bishop's Rest, we were able to explore the towns of Porrentruy, St. Ursanne, and Delemont as well as take the 15 KM hike from Soubey to St. Ursanne along the Doubs River. If we are ever in the area again, I certainly would try to stay at Bishop's Rest on the Allaine River.

Summary: I stayed here with my 3 children for a week while relaxing and exploring a bit of Switzerland. Because the weather turned out to be cold and rainy, we had to stay in more than we had planned and found the apartment to be a wonderful refuge. Plenty of room for 4 with 2 bedrooms, a kitchen and living room. The kitchen was well-equipped and my kids loved the great wifi. Patrick was a great host - so accommodating. The gardens are beautiful - it's too bad the weather was so bad that we didn't get enough time to enjoy them. The apartment was very clean and the description completely accurate.

Summary: This past weekend I spent two loving nights in Porrentruy at the most lovely bed and breakfast!  The two owners, Patrick (a quick witted and ever so attentive Australian) and Dieter (the quiet yet observant German), were so lovely and kind and have decorated two lovely apartments surrounded by stunning gardens with secret sitting hide aways, perfect to catch some rays or just pass time reading a book while sipping on a local wine.  You can also take a dip in the river running on the edge of the property, easily accessed with the steps installed by the thoughtful owners...no detail is missed by these two.  The price includes a lovely breakfast and if lucky, a conversation with the owners.   Porrentruy has a rich and interesting history, ask Patrick to organize a walking tour with the most entertaining guide you will meet!

Summary: It was one of our most beautiful an relaxing vacations. We, that means, my wife, my daughter an our dog. The appartment in the first floor was tenderly furnish, you have a full equipted kitchen, internet, LCD, pp. Great!! If you open the windows at the back of the house you have a dreamy view to the hole property (3000 - 4000 qm) an to the nice river (you can swim there). I was playing with my daughter, football, badminten, frisby, handball, boule the hole day. Next to the house the is a boule area located under a a hazelnuttree. Further there is a barbecue-place. Really romantic. Our dog liked to run and to play on the grasland and to swim in the river, as I said above 3000-4000 qm, there a some appletrees. (Nice). We enjoyed the silence an thge intact nature there. The people who live there are friendly, hospitable an likes to have a small talk. We took some tours there. Really lovely ist Porrentruy , St. Ursanne, Biel, Neuchatel. Thanks a lot to the owner for the nice residence. We will come back. Family (3 persons) & dog //Greetings from Germany (Oldenburg)
