Our romantic spa getaway for two includes everything you and your partner needs to relax. Whether it’s a spa, a billiard room, wood burning stove we have all of the essentials for a relaxing romantic getaway. Our place is located in unincorporated Marengo, about 45 minutes outside of Chicago, about 5 minutes off of I-90 and 40 min drive to beautiful to Lake Geneva. The air is clean, the area is very quiet, star gazing is a must. During spring and summer months guests have access to our gardens.
The space
Our romantic spa getaway for two will surely give you and/or your partner the needed relaxation you are looking for. Our 2,000 sq ft destination comes with everything you need to complete your romantic trip. Let’s start with our 320 square foot spa; complete with sauna (with Huum sauna heater) seats up to 6 individuals, massage chair, jetted whirl pool tub with shower, radiant floor heating, Tibetan singing bowls, essential oils, salt scrubs, and more.
After a day or evening relaxing in the spa, perhaps its time for a game or two of pool. Our billiard room contains full wet bar, 8 ft pool table and air fryer.
After entertaining yourselves for a few games of pool why not throw a couple of logs in the wood burning stove (we supply the wood!) and settle in with your favorite movie to watch on the 70-inch screen television in our entertainment room.
During the spring, summer, and fall months guests also have full access to our 250 square foot greenhouse and 500 square foot garden. Fresh fruit and veggies are abundant as we also have 5 apple trees, approximately 40 blueberry, raspberry, and blackberry bushes.
Guests can also enjoy, when its warmer, one our of two large fire pits. Keep in mind all fire wood is included with the stay for both the fire pits and wood burning stove.
We are conveniently located 5 minutes off of I-90, 40 minute drive to beautiful Lake Geneva and two miles from Blackstone Golf Club.
For those of you staying longer, we do not have a washer or dryer located in the space, however, we will happily wash any clothing for your extended stay.
Guest access
We live in a very small, quiet neighborhood. There is ample parking in our driveway or even on the street if you should chose. The space has its own private entrance.
Other things to note
Our place is located in an unincorporated part of the town, very quiet and very dark. The ultimate for relaxation. Also, we do offer breakfast but is not the standard American variety, we offer freshly squeezed juices or smoothies, and fruit for all of our guests, for each morning of your stay. Please inquire more about this after booking your stay. We are also located approximately 2 miles from Blackstone Golf Club.

Summary: This place exceeded our expectations. The rooms were clean and well thought out. We loved the spa area and had such a great time. The owners were beyond frendly and helpful. The garden was beautiful and the raspberries were delicious. We will miss this place, especially Rocco!

Summary: Nestled in the serene landscape of rural Illinois, this beautiful home offers even the most discerning of hostelers a perfect cozy getaway. Upon arrival, we were greeted with a warm smile as our host took us on a tour through the multi-room retreat that had been specifically appointed for our romantic birthday weekend. Her care, kindness and playful wit immediately made us feel at home. In most cases, a rental home that comes with glassware and utensils is a win as so often the pictures posted online paint a gracious overestimation of the amenities one can expect when one arrives. In this case, the reality was so far beyond what we had anticipated. From the furniture, to the towels, to the television, and even to the copious amounts of bath salts and other aromatherapies available in the beautiful spa, it felt as though we were staying in a place reserved for royalty. The small touches and care given to the space make it so very special. There is a pool table with nary a difficult wall obstruction, a roomy sauna with plenty of space and a wide spectrum of options, a roomy spa tub complete with the aforementioned salts and scrubs, a massage chair placed in an expansive room illuminated by adjustable lighting, a wood burning fireplace that warms the entire living space, and a TV area perfect for relaxing. To say that our hosts were gracious and that the VRBO was perfect would be a gross underestimation on both accounts. We are so grateful for the memories they allowed us to make in warmth of their home and cannot wait to come back!
