Positive: The location to this place it prime. We enjoyed living like a Bohemian Parisian in the middle of it all. We could drink wine and listen to live jazz music in the streets below, and we’re a short walk from almost everything, and also right by a metro stop. It was neat to think about the history of the place! It was built in the 1600s, and we were imagining all of the people who had lived there and the things that apartment has seen!

Negative: We loved this place, but you need to know that it’s in the middle of very lively nightlife. There is no ac in the summer, so you must sleep with the windows open, and there is noise until 4 in the morning. We found that it made a nice humm and didn’t bother us, but you may feel differently. Also, the house was built in the 1600s, so there were 5 flights of stairs to carry luggage up.

Positive: We had a great stay and would happily recommend this apartment. The host was excellent — honest, helpful and very accommodating. The apartment was very clean, and both check-in and check-out were easy and straightforward. The location was perfect: central, vibrant and convenient, while still offering incredible value for money. There are an abundance of amazing restaurants and bars right outside the front door! We were a group of five, and with the extra mattresses the apartment was comfortably big enough for us. Just be aware that the apartment is at the top of the building, so you need to be comfortable with stairs. Overall, a fantastic stay and excellent value in a great location.

Positive: The host was phenomenal. Helpful, kind, communicative, honest, and knowledgeable. This was our first time in Paris and we learned that Paris is divided up into different districts and this property is in the bar district. It is an amazing area but people are out having an audibly good time until morning.

Negative: The five flights of spiral stairs (93 stairs) were tricky for the suitcases. It would be better to have 5 small suitcases than 2 large. Or better yet, backpacks!

Summary: A Gem of a Place but plan ahead for stairs and location.

Positive: The location was amazing! The building is charming with stone steps. We could easily walk to everything. We slept well. It cost less than two hotel rooms for 5 people in the neighbourhood.

Negative: Everything was as we expected except for the washroom. The door is made with wide-spaced slats and so there is little privacy; also, the shower/tub is tricky if you are taller than 5’7” 170cm).
