Summary: This is an absolutely stunning property and it was an amazing place to stay at the end of our holiday. We were met at the gate and given a tour of the house and grounds and shown the many amazing antiques and the unique salons. It was a delight to be here, but there are a couple of things to be aware of when planning a stay. Apart from a lovely breakfast, there is no food available. There are some bars and Cafes in nearby villages, but it might be difficult to find places outside weekends. This makes it a bit difficult with a family. Even some Self catering access to a kitchen would help. There is also no air-conditioning. The house generates electricity through solar, and is cooled using shutters and drafts, which is great but we woke very hot in the night. Just an electric fan uses little energy and could make a big difference to guest comfort. My one big criticism is that the mattress was very hard and uncomfortable, which is surprising in a house where every detail seems to have been lovingly arranged. We were the only paying guests staying at the house, and the owners were having a gathering with their friends. Although everyone was charming it was difficult not to feel as though we were crashing a private party when the group were around the pool, etc. I understand that isn’t the usual situation, but worth being aware it can happen. Having said this, I would highly recommend a stay in this beautiful extensive property and we have wonderful memories to take home!

Summary: What a great find this Hotel was in a great Spanish town of Montanejos. Ideal location perfect for walks & visiting the local restaurants. With good clean rooms, great breakfast & restaurant at a great sensible cost. Perfect few days with plenty of things to do or not to do !!

Summary: The setting is wonderful. A great place to enjoy the beautiful mountains. The hotel was exactly what we needed. Spacious, clean and with very friendly staff.

Summary: This area is a hidden gem, for road cyclists! One of the best areas, in all of Spain, if you are here, specifically, for the quality, quantity and variety of the riding. Only thing it lacks is the infrastructure to accommodate cyclists en masse. Hotel was great. But they don’t serve breakfast until 8:30am. And dinner not until 9pm! Not ideal, for cyclists, in hot weather, requiring an earlier schedule. If riding for 5-7 hours, a cyclist will miss the possibility for the lunch (2-3:30pm), unless you skip breakfast. And the very few restaurants in town, seem to be on the same schedule. This town could really capitalize on the cycling tourism, with a hotel that caters more to a cyclists needs ie. much earlier meal times, laundry facilities that allow for quick turn-around times (better yet, self-serve), easy access to jacuzzi tub - and marketing! We came upon this area, by chance - couldn’t find much info about the road riding, online. But it’s phenomenal! The hotel is in the perfect location - very quiet, w/ a beautiful view, if on the river side. If staying long term, I’d recommend renting an apartment though - just for control over meals and laundry. If this hotel is interested, check out “bike hotels” in Italy, for examples of how to really do it right.
