Futuroscope is about an hour away, with the Valley of the monkeys a little nearer.

Summary: We had a lovely, peaceful stay at the gite. Chris and Clare greeted us on arrival, after providing very clear instructions for finding it without Sat Nav, and left us a very nice bottle of wine and some delicious cakes. The gite is exactly as described and lovely and clean. It is comfortably furnished with more than enough crockery, cutlery, glasses and pots and pans in excellent condition(they aren't always!) The weather was so warm we ate outside every evening overlooking the field of sunflowers opposite. Even though there is a country lane outside the property there is very little traffic and we really enjoyed the peace and quiet. Overall this is a lovely gite and ideally located to visit the major cities in the area.

Summary: Very roomy, good quality kitchen utensils and appliances, peaceful and quiet. The view was limited whilst we were there, July, by the height of the crops {maize] across the road, but that will change. Very nice owners, generous welcome pack, A very enjoyable week.

Summary: We enjoyed our time near Coulgens. The gite is very clean and obviously stocked with items purchased specifically for its inhabitants. The plates, glasses, silverware, etc. are new and they match! To a person like me, that matters. One has no feeling that you're using the "cast offs" of someone's life. The kitchen has everything one can want. It was pleasant to cook in such a well-equipped space. The beds were comfortable and the bathroom is beautiful and I appreciated having two sinks. The garden area is also well-equipped for all one's needs. Clare and Chris were helpful with any information we needed. Having a large LeClerc shopping center in the area was a plus. We can recommend the mid-day "plat du jour" for relatively inexpensive eating that is tasty. If using a GPS that doesn't recognize Coulgens with the address, enter the town name St. Angeau, which will give you directions to the neighbors near.

Summary: This is a beautiful, clean and quite place to stay. The kitchen is fully equipped, the beds are comfortable, the garden has both sun and shade all day, Chris and Clare are very kind and helpful. We would definitely recommend a stay here.

Summary: From the first time we got in contact with them, Chris and Clare couldn't have been more helpful. The gite is very comfortable and well equipped. We were keen on having a place with a fire as it was still cold in the evenings ( & on some past experiences at other places there never seems to be enough wood provided) but Chris just pointed us to the log store and said help yourself. Very much appreciated! We had a lovely stay.

Summary: This is a quiet, well equipped, comfortable cottage ideally placed to visit Angouleme, Futuroscope or the lakes of High Charente. The owners, who live in an adjoining property are both helpful and knowledgeable about where to visit or eat. Freesat UK TV available. We very much enjoyed our short break here.
