Summary: The internet did not work for 4 days and the wifi was unreliable. This made communication with the owner very challenging and it was impossible to plan for weather and find maps for travel. We needed more than 1 hand towel in the bathroom and only had one extra towel to use as a floor mat for 8 days. Water in the cabin was unpredictable and we vacuumed many cobwebs and spiders ourselves. The beach and Lake Superior were amazing and made up for the cabin.

Summary: The cabin was clean and comfortable. The beach though is what made this a great place. The lake is shallow enough to wade out around 200 feet, and all fine sand.

Summary: The retro decor took me back to my childhood, it had an older electric stove that cooked food perfectly, and the kitchen offered modern conveniences , too. It was hot in the closed up cottage when we arrived, but put the fans in the window and it pulls in the breeze. At night it really cools down and slept comfortably with the windows closed. The pictures on VRBO weren't updated before staying ,so I was pleasantly surprised to find a huge comfy couch and love seat, as well as the lazy boy (which I claimed as my reading chair.) Next time I'll bring my roku as we could only get Grit tv and a couple more channels. We only needed that the 1 evening it rained as we were too busy exploring the rest of the time! In Marquette I found King Koin laundromat and left my washing to enjoy local coffee shops and bookstores. So I really didn't miss a washer/dryer. The water pipes get air in them, so you get a little shower in the kitchen sink. But I was on vacation, so I just laughed. The beach and lake were beautiful! When the fire died down we enjoyed the star show! The local residents and workers were kind and friendly and we were close to so many things to do. I hope to come back.

Summary: My family and I had a great time here. It was a nice little cabin. We especially loved the gorgeous private beach behind the house we spent every morning there. Some of the appliances could use an update and the beds are a little rough, the water seemed to sputter a lot too, but none of that bothered us too much and we just loved the beach part so much we'd definitely return.

Summary: It doesn't get much better than a walk over the dune to Lake Superior!! Well stocked kitchen!! This is a more rustic setting with no A/C so if you come in the summer just know that. We would definitely stay here again.

Summary: Simple cabin right off the main road, absolutely beautiful walk from the cabin down to the beach. We brought our kayak and (waves permitting) paddled along Lake Superior. Short drives to explore Au Train river and beautiful waterfalls. Close to a good grocery store and and short drive into Marquette. Even in questionable weather, we had a lovely time. Could have used a towel rack and a door mat at the backdoor.

Summary: The cottage works as a way to get to the beach, on which it is possible to walk for miles and miles. The owner was unfailingly conscientious in his efforts to resolve the problems with the cottage that did arise. The sunsets were stunning, but can't be seen from the cottage.

Summary: The beach was absolutely breathtaking and we definitely got some exercise getting to and from it. The cabin was very clean and comfortable. We did have a visitor the first night we were there a skunk decided to let us know it was in our area. I realized how important it is to have front and back door motion lights . Lights do a good job of keeping most critters away. we startled the skunk when we went out back in the dark. Overall I would definitely rent the cabin again!
