Positive: Great location, friendly welcoming hosts, very cool building, extremely clean. Fab coffee and breakfast.

Negative: My only gripe was the bed wasn’t that comfortable, and the pillows weren’t great. (I’m sure the host would have changed my pillows if I had asked… )

Summary: Unique property, 5mins walk to everywhere .. hosts were brilliant.

Positive: The building, we heard, started a long time ago and has been through various indentities since, including a mill, and a bakery - as well as now a beaufifully converted hotel/guest house. Delicious breakfast splendidly presented. Wonderful beds. Very well appoined rooms. Spotlessly clean throughout. Kathryn and Toby were most pleasant, welcoming and helpful hosts, who had time to chat. Almost 360 degree view from the walkway outside the room in which we stayed.

Negative: In our room, to access the bathroom required climbing an interior spiral iron stairway. For most people that would have been a pleasant innovation, but being on the elderly side and generally having to make several bathroom visits a night it was a tad less handy. We understand the other rooms have bathrooms on the same floor. So this is not intended as a general criticism - except perhaps on us for being elderly!

Summary: We'll come again for sure - but stay in a different room.

Positive: We had a fantastic stay at the Rye windmill. The room was very comfortable and we had everything we needed. The breakfast was very good and we were well catered for with vegan and vegetarian options. Toby made us feel very welcome and gave us some very helpful info on local places to eat. The windmill is in a great location and a few minutes walk from the town.

Positive: The Windmill is a 5 minute walk from the centre of historic Rye and Bob gave us a town map and highlighted the best places to see and eat. Staff are very friendly and helpful. There is on site parking (quite tight) which is a great asset in Rye. EV charging available. Breakfast was excellent with local produce and a good choice. The property is unusual and very tastefully decorated.

Negative: The room (#8) was quite warm but there was a fan in the room. The property is next to the railway line which wasn't a problem for us but something to be aware of.

Summary: An excellent base to explore Rye and the surrounding area.
