Positive: We had such a special stay at Sailor’s House near Skadar Lake. Our hosts were incredibly warm, welcoming and kind, and really made the experience feel memorable. We chose to have breakfast prepared for us each morning and also had the fish dinner on our first night. The fish had been caught earlier that day and cooked fresh, and it was honestly one of the best meals we had during our time in Montenegro. The house itself is charming, rustic and completely unique. If you’re looking for luxury bathroom facilities, this probably isn’t the place, the shower is literally a hose, but it did the job and was absolutely fine for us. There are also lots of friendly cats around, which animal lovers will enjoy. Definitely bring mosquito spray, as there are plenty around. The setting is incredible. The mountain views are beautiful, and having coffee in the morning looking out at the scenery was one of our favourite parts of the stay. The walks around the little area are lovely too. Just down the road, look out for a small sign where you can buy homemade juices, wine and liqueurs. We highly recommend stopping in to meet the lovely husband and wife there, and especially trying the walnut and honey liqueur, absolutely delicious and cleaned up my mild flu too! Finally, definitely book a boat tour on Skadar Lake and go early in the morning if you can. We had an amazing time (booked through eagle boat tours) and took some of the most beautiful photos of our whole holiday. Also...stop at the cafe by the river bank and enjoy a coffee by the water in comfy chairs. A truly memorable, authentic stay in a stunning location. Highly recommended.

Positive: Never will you meet nicer hostesses than Marija and her mother who are 100% invested in seeing that you feel welcome and comfortable on their charming property. Breakfast was served lovingly and in abundance, homemade grape rakya was shared with pride and we were sad to leave…
Negative: Not a dislike, just a heads up that the approach to the house from Virpizar is along a narrow route.
Summary: Great memories, wonderful hospitality.

Positive: Authentic house in gorgeous rural location. The hostess was very kind and friendly and cooked us a delicious dinner and breakfast which I highly recommend. Traditional homemade food with very good wine. We hope to return. Don't forget to check out the 'wonky' church!

Positive: Everything! The location, so peaceful, the house, with some very special atmosphere, and above all: the owners. Maria and her mum are so gentle and nice, they treated us very well and prepared delicious local food!

Positive: Marija and her mom are absolutely amazing hosts, they treated us with snacks and coffee every day and the hole stay was just a pleasant experience. The room was very nice and the kitchen was well equipped. We took our dog and that was no problem. The bed was comfy and it was a quite area. They even washed our laundry, that was helpful because we had been on the road for quite some time. All in all we strongly recommend you to book this place and get to know amazing Montenegrian hospitality!
Negative: There is nothing we did not like, we would definitely come back without hesitation next time
