Positive: Yoshi and his wife are wonderful hosts. During our stay, we received plenty of advice and help to explore the area and make the most of the short time we had in Nikko. The accommodation is beautiful, comfortable, very well located, and super clean. Next time we visit, we’ll spend more time in the area and will definitely stay here again.

Positive: It was a lovely communal space with excellent hosts and well located in Nikko. We also really appreciated the generous snacks and drinks available. Yoshi went above and beyond as a host, being extra helpful with directions and suggestions for activities. Highly recommend!

Positive: Having traveled for many years, I can say that Yoshi-san is one of the nicest and most accommodating hosts I have encountered. It was a pleasure to stay at Sanga Nikko. It would be my first stop should I return to Nikko.

Positive: The house is clean and spacious with nice amenities, but the real gem of the place is Yoshi the owner. He's a wonderful conversationalist and impeccable host, as well as being a great hiking partner and photographer :-) Truly one of the best experiences of our Japan trip!

Positive: Amazing hosts in a beautiful, clean and amazing location. Yoshi-san went way above what was expected as a host. His dedication to hospitality and desire to be helpful is truly heartwarming. Yoshi-san ensured we had printouts of destinations, made phone calls for onward bookings and offered to assist us if needed throughout the rest of our trip in northern Honshu. The property is short 5 min walk to shops, train station and 20 mins to attractions. We would definitely come back next time we are in Japan. So much gratitude 🙏

Positive: I spent a week with Yoshi and Ie in their elegant beautiful home. You could not find more professional and friendly hosts. To not book Sanga Nikko would mean missing out on one of Nikko’s great resources, Yoshi. Yoshi drove me to see waterfalls and recommended venues and must-dos. He asked me what I wanted to do each day and made extensive plans for me, with very use of printouts. When I said I needed rest he left me alone. His tips saved me plenty of trouble and he even lent me a bear bell, walking boots, and rain jacket. Will come back next time with my wife and there’s no question where we’ll be staying. I look forward to seeing them again.

Positive: Yoshi-san’s place is cosy and spotless. It’s a 4min walk from TOBU-Nikko station and within walking distance to several restaurants. The room was spacious and sharing a bathroom and shower weren’t a problem at all. The snack bar and fridge are well stocked with snacks, coffee, tea, water and soy milk and there’s AC for cooling or heating in the room. The highlight of the stay however has to be Yoshi-san’s and his wife’s absolutely outstanding hospitality. Communication pre-arrival was timely and very helpful, and Yoshi picked me up from the station as it was raining heavily. He printed off and planned my itinerary, offered his hiking boots, backpack and heat pads, carried my suitcase up and down the stairs and also drove me to the nearby waterfall and Uwasawa’s Breakfast place as they’re not easy to get to via public transport. Nothing was too much trouble for him and he was also a great conversation partner. Highly recommended to stay here.

Positive: My friend and I stayed for 3 nights. Sanga Nikko is in a great location close to the train and bus station. Host Yoshi is wonderfully hospitable and provided great food and sightseeing recommendations and transport options and timetables. The guest house is beautiful with great ambiance and comfortable and clean. Museli, fruit and drinks are provided. There are ample share bathroom areas with 2 shower rooms and 3 toilets plus hand basins so sharing is easy. We highly recommend Sanga Nikko and spending time visiting the temples and walking in the beautiful forest.
