Come create beautiful memories in our completely remodeled and updated home on West Island. Step back in time where your worries are carried away as you bike along the island roads, walking to one of the five beaches, hiking the trails to secluded beaches, kayak Buzzards Bay or Nasketucket Bay, watch the beautiful sunsets or sit around a campfire. West Island is an undiscovered gem that is an hour drive from Boston without the hassle of the bridges or traffic of Cape Cod. Over half the island is State conservation land offering many trails and wildlife.
Our coastal island dream home is like a tiny slice of heaven. Sea Salt has a large cathedral ceiling open concept kitchen dining area with all brand new stainless steel appliances, living room with gas fireplace, 60 inch HDTV , WiFi, three bedrooms ,walk in rainfall shower, full sized washer and dryer ,all make up the inside of our home.
Relax on the back porch overlooking a lush landscaped partially fenced yard, grill local caught seafood on outside gas grill , enjoy dining under the stars in our sea shelled dining area, sit around a natural rock fire pit or let your cares wash away in an outside spa, complete with rainfall shower and an antique claw foot tub with hot and cold water. Once here you may never want to leave.
For your convenience we provide beach towels, beach chairs, cooler, reading books and some board games.
Within 4 miles you will find large supermarket chains, department stores and restaurants. There is a ferry located at both Fairhaven and New Bedford that can take you to Martha's Vineyard or Nantucket.

Summary: My wife and I have just spent three special days at this beautiful property as part of our New England road trip. The cottage is stunning, situated in a quiet tree lined road on a small island connected to the mainland by a causeway. On arriving at the island it is almost like stepping back in time, everybody is so polite and friendly and the only sounds to be heard are the sound of the ocean and birdsong. The cottage itself is beautifully furnished, so comfortable, with modern appliances and sea themed art and ornaments. The bed is very comfortable, and the living room so very welcoming and comfortable. The kitchen is well equipped and modern. We both loved the cottage and would be hard pressed to find a single fault. Bicycles are provided for use on the island, and the cottage is no more than 400 metres from the sea in any direction, with beautiful beaches and good walks. Our dealings with Beth were prefect, .Beth responded quickly to our contact and was very helpful in messaging with little tips for things to do, and checking in that we were ok, the very best of hosts. We will always remember our time at Sea Salt Cottage and would return in a heartbeat. Thank you Beth. Thank you Sea Salt Cottage and West Island.

Summary: Sea Salt Cottage is beautifully designed and decorated, and has everything you need for a relaxing getaway: beach, porch sitting area, firepit, outdoor shower, bright and spacious kitchen, quiet neighborhood, ice cream shop and restaurant within walking distance, and more. This was our fifth stay here, and we will be back!

Summary: This was our family of 4 first experience with a VRBO and it was amazing. The Sea Salt Cottage had everything we needed to make our stay comfortable. We loved riding the bikes through out the island and the other amenities the cottage offered. Beth, the owner, was so easy to communicate with and offered so much information for activities to do in the area. I would highly recommend to anyone thinking of staying here.

Summary: The house was beautifully decorated without being precious. There were many places both inside and outside to relax. The three bedrooms are off the kitchen and the feeling of the rest of the house is open and bright. In the shed there were several bikes from which to choose. We hadn't been to West Island before; it's pretty sleepy...one ice cream place .1 mile away:) We mostly just hung around reading and eating ice cream every night and that worked for us! The island is very easy to figure out as it's an alphabetical grid. It seems like it would be a great place to bring kids because they could ride their bikes around without much worry.

Summary: Every five star review for this home and the people who own it is well deserved. This is the only home I’ve ever rented where the reality was better than the description. It truly is a special place where every detail is considered. The owners are thoughtful, friendly and go above and beyond in every way imaginable. The home is comfortable, warm and inviting and an oasis away from everything, while being close enough to everything a person could want or need. I feel so fortunate to have found this special place and will definitely return.

Summary: I rented the house to attend my daughter's wedding and it couldn't have been a more perfect home away from home. Kitchen was well stocked and the house was decorated beautifully. The host was very responsive and helpful. Bikes and cornhole came in handy!!
