Negative: The attitude and response of the Manager/Owner to accommodate a special situation that arose the day of our arrival. To be clear, we DID know in advance the terms of the stay and cannot/will not argue about that. However, out of a 9 day trip, this location was the only one that had to be confirmed and paid A MONTH in advance, and ended up being the only location at which we did not stay. We ended up having to look for an alternate location to stay that same day. No, we did not request, nor we expect, a refund. On the day of arrival, we received a message saying “Check in is from 15.00 to 19.00” which we understood and planned to meet. Regrettably, we had an issue in Belfast and since it is quite a drive to Calway, we call the B&B to let them know we had an issue and we could not be earlier than 10pm. The purpose of the call was to discuss potential options that could possibly accommodate our situation. For example, meeting somewhere else, leaving the key hidden, etc. We were open to the possibility that no option could be found and even prepared to understand and accept that we would have to look for another place to stay. Having said that, what was truly disappointing was as the immediate harsh response we received from the Manager/Owner, grunting irritably “argh, but I clearly put it there that I cannot stay late”. I’d say that unless you know your plans well in advance, you are are 200% sure of them, and feel confident that those won’t change when visiting Galway, then give this place a try. But if you need, or would like to have some flexibility in your plans, then look for another option. We ended up finding another very good place to stay, making the reservation that same day (in the afternoon of our arrival), for the same price, great location, and which was able to accommodate our needs. We can’t comment on the premises, or the food, but a positive attitude goes a long way, and we did not experienced that.
Summary: We couldn’t stay there and had to look for another option.

Positive: Beautiful b&b to stay in. Derek was amazing, very friendly and helpful. Room was fabulous - clean, spacious and beautifully decorated. Breakfast was gorgeous and very good variety to suit everyone's needs. 10 minutes from Galway airport where concerts are held. Easy to find on Google maps.
