Positive: I spent a week in the smaller cottage at the end of December 2025. The accommodation was exactly as described, very cozy and quiet. I was afraid of the heating, but it was always pleasantly warm thanks to the underfloor heating. Margrét was helpful. The town was small, with one restaurant and one gas station. But since you had to go everywhere by car anyway, the wide range of supermarkets in Selfoss, 10 minutes away, was enough for everything.

Negative: I can't say anything like that right now. I'll be back in the summer because I missed the barbecue and swimming in the ocean.

Summary: I recommend the place to those who are looking for quiet but homely self-catering accommodation.

Positive: The location is ideal as a home base! We went out exploring southern Iceland/Golden Circle most days but spent an entire day local exploring lava cliffs, black sand beach, in addition to horseback riding. Beds are amazingly comfortable. We loved the proximity to the path along the shore.

Negative: Limited kitchen utensils.Maybe a big slotted spoon and a spatula would be helpful. Little to no storage to unpack clothing for easy access. Spent a few days living out of suitcases. A few baskets under bedroom bench would suffice.
