Summary: We got so lucky to have a full week of perfect weather in late October. It was dead silent on the bay and the beach was mostly empty; a pair of herons were constantly in view from the windows and the porch. We managed to find good places to eat and explore even though it was off season, I imagine next time we'll try and catch the boardwalk when more things are open...but we were perfectly happy to appreciate prime Hook either way it was really really pleasant

Summary: The 9.8 Exceptional rating was misleading. This was not an exceptional property. I was a bit disappointed. Several lightbulbs were burned and therefore the kitchen was dark, the bedroom side light was out, the screened porch had no light. There was a gas grill but no fuel. There was a washer and dryer with dryer sheets but no laundry detergent. Pillow cushions on porch and sofa were stained. White deck furniture was pretty dirty. The kitchen was not well equipped.

Summary: Lovely house, nice walking areas with gorgeous views of the waterways in the wildlife preserve. Breathtaking sunsets! Nicely furnished with plenty of equipment, towels etc. We loved the porch. Heaven forbid....did not find a corkscrew to open wine, but we always travel with one.

Summary: This house is in a lovely location overlooking a wetland and easy bay beach access. It was peaceful in late Sept, minus the annoyance of mosquitos (bring bug spray). The house was clean, kitchen well equipped, outdoor seating for watching wildlife/birds and space to park the car. We loved it.

Summary: Prime Hook itself is a bit off the beaten path, which is good for a quiet week away. 5 minute walk to the beach, beautiful sunrises and sunsets! The house was clean and perfect for what we needed. Good enough space for two adults and a toddler. We probably could have had another toddler aged child there, beyond that it would start to feel a bit small. Heads up: bring a healthy amount of bug spray in the summer, the mosquitos outside the house are aggressive! Overall, it was a great place and it was exactly as advertised!

Summary: The house was very clean, tidy yet inviting. A quick walk to the beach. Beautiful sunrises and sunsets! Our dog loved it! The outdoor shower was super appreciated. The views from our room and deck were picturesque! It’s very remote, and maybe not for everyone, but we thought it was perfect!

Summary: The perfect spot backing up to the Prime Hook Wildlife Refuge! We enjoyed sitting on comfy chairs on the deck and watching the blue heron wading and fishing. The cottage was immaculate and had everything we needed. ❤️❤️❤️

Summary: In a quiet neighborhood, this darling cottage backs up to the Prime Hook National Wildlife Refuge and has a short walk to an uncrowded bay beach. The cottage is spotless and newly remodeled. Coastal decorations in white and blue with natural wood accents throughout. The screened porch and deck were favorite spots during our 7 day stay; morning coffee and evening sunsets with bird watching over the refuge. Kris was a very responsive host and the house was perfectly as pictured.

Summary: Cozy beach house with beautiful view! Saw fox, eagle, and many species of birds. Nicely decorated in light colors. I love that i could see the nature preserve and water from the small window in the shower! The bay and beach is a short walk, a few minutes away. Nice roomy deck and enclosed porch offered lovely evening breezes. Wonderful sunset from the deck every night. A quiet area with friendly neighbors.
