Positive: I had only one night on Vancouver island so I wanted somewhere with a nice view. This place has a great view overlooking the water, with other islands and mountains in the background. As someone else mentioned, there are powerlines that detract a little from the view, but it was lovely to watch the sunset and sunrise. The rooms are very spacious and the bathtub was a welcome treat. The place is spotlessly clean and not too far to drive to the very quaint little town of Ladysmith. You could walk to one set of shops but the town would be a fair hike. Self check in was easy and the host made sure we had everything we needed.
Negative: The beds are memory foam, which is not my favourite but others might like. The blinds in the bedrooms are not block out, so we both woke up at 5am with the sunrise. I didn’t notice that there was a 150 CAD cleaning fee until after I’d booked. That’s on me but just a heads up.

Positive: The OCEAN view was exceptional - the residence was well set up for guests. Kitchen was a dream and bathrooms were well appointed as was the whole house. The bonus was the washer and dryer - altho dryer needs a new thermostat. There is a lovely deck and bbq which we couldn't use because the weather was cold and wet - but a nice feature.
Negative: The residence is in bad need of maintenance - a lot of little things that go unaddressed if you're not living in the space. We had an issue with hot air from the unit below - had to open all doors and windows in order to breathe. I've noted the upgrades that need addressing privately. ALSO, you should know - I booked online and the price quoted through Booking.com was not the price I paid. The rate rose significantly over the week into the weekend - we were not AWARE of that - ending up costing over $2,000. for one week - We are seniors and the pension doesn't make room for that kind of luxurious holiday.

Positive: Loved the view. Kitchen had everything we needed plus extra little things. Home away from home vibes. We had a stay cation and it was worth it! Communication with host was amazing! Loved the self check-in/check-out
Negative: My boys love to play but we did our best to keep them content, keeping in mind there was others downstairs. Maybe some family games along with the books already there?

Positive: fabulous view, lovely modern furnishings and decor, super spacious. Well appointed - everything you could possibly need in the kitchen and entire apartment, even childrens dinnerware and cutlery. Comfy beds, big shower.
Negative: No mats at all on the floors and owner requested that we remove our shoes - our feet were freezing! :( Although the decor is beautiful, the entire apartment has a cold, echoey and hollow feeling.. it doesnt feel very welcoming at all. The sound proofing is dreadful. There's another holiday apartment below and every sound they make can be heard from above and, I assume, vice versa. We whispered the whole time for privacy :( The trash can was not emptied, the kitchen sink area was not very clean nor was the bathroom basin area. The windowsills were dusty and dirty. The extensive venetian blinds were dusty and had fly poo all over them! There were trashy looking home printed paper notices stuck on the walls everywhere with all the rules and regulations! They looked dreadful! We called them "Mum" notes! We were unaware initially that there was an added cleaning fee. This is shown below the 'cost per night' where the tax amount usually is. We are unsure why we would be charged a cleaning fee when the accom wasnt overly clean in areas?
Summary: Lovely decor and furnishings but cold and hollow feeling, not overly clean, terrible sound proofing
