Luxury mountain chalet with 4 bedrooms and 4 baths on secluded 25 acre property close to downtown Fayetteville (1.5 miles) and New River Gorge Bridge and National Park (2 miles). The house was remodeled in early 2014 and was opened for vacation rentals beginning in May, 2014. The Sugar Creek Chalet is 1/4 mile from the Ramsey Mountain Lodge (VRBO 452740), both are owned by Bill and Sally Wells. We strive to deliver the highest quality vacation experience and encourage you to read our guest reviews. Amenities include hardwood and tile floors, granite countertops, newly remodeled kitchen and bathrooms, gas log fireplace, screened porch and large deck plus a sandstone fire ring with masonry sitting walls. The house is pet friendly and has a fenced in backyard. Sleeping accommodations include a first floor master bedroom with a queen size bed and master bath. A second full bath is also located on the first floor. Two bedrooms and a loft are found on the second floor. One bedroom has 3 single beds. The second bedroom has a full size bed and the loft has a full size futon. The basement features a bedroom with 4 bunk beds, a family room with a queen size convertible couch and a full bath. The family room includes a game table and foosball table. The Sugar Creek Chalet will sleep 10 to 15 people and large groups up to 28 people can be accommodated by renting both the Sugar Creek Chalet and the Ramsey Mountain Lodge (VRBO #452740)

Summary: We're a family of 14. Eight adults and six children ages 2 years to 12 years. Plus two large dogs...This house was perfect for our needs. The house is located at the end of a county lane and although there were other houses nearby we never saw or heard anyone. There was a large yard for the kids to play and a fenced backyard for the dogs. A basement with game table and TV allowed the kids to have their own space. The kitchen was large and well equipped. I brought things like a large pot and baking sheets but didn't need to get any of that out of the car. There was a wonderful fire pit which we enjoyed and a fireplace in the house. Plenty of towels and even towels and bowls for the dogs. Loved that the house is located near the New River Gorge National Park and Babcock State Park. We had no trouble with the WiFi or cell phone reception. It was difficult to find a house that would accept our large family and our large dogs so I was very happy to find this house and very pleased with everything. Just to note - there are stairs to the basement and to the upstairs but our almost 3 year old had no problem navigating them. The master bedroom is on the 1st floor so if anyone has issues with stairs they can use that bedroom and bath. Lots of full bathrooms which is really nice for a large group!Perfect place to spend our family Christmas. No one wanted to leave!

Summary: We rented for our family of 15 to gather for Thanksgiving and the house exceeded our expectations. There was plenty of room for everyone to sleep, the kitchen was huge and well equipped, plus plenty of seating for eating. The grounds were beautiful! The extra plus was there was a fenced area for dogs, and even a tray on the floor with dog dishes, along with dog towels for wiping paws as they came inside. The owners thought of everything! It's a beautiful home and we highly recommend this property.

Summary: The house was a great fit for our family. The right amount of bedrooms and bathrooms. The kitchen had what we needed to fix our family meals each day. The yard was great for the grandchildren to run around and play outside. We used the fire pit in the evening. While there are neighbors, you don’t see them or hear them.

Summary: My family spent a long weekend at this property in October of 2024 and we had a very enjoyable time! We had a mix of family members (people in their 70s, 40’s, 30s, and young children) and everyone enjoyed the house and property! The ability spread out in the house is great! We had kids playing downstairs in the game room, adults watching football and cooking upstairs, and another group outside around the fire pit. We loved this ability to all do different things, yet still be together! Cooking in the kitchen is very easily and even has two separate sinks! There are plenty of bathrooms, so you are never having to wait, and we never ran out of hot water. There are two decks and one screened-in patio which allow you to spread out outside the house as well. The property is very pet friendly and there is a very nice fenced in dog run area out back. The laundry area was very handy and convenient as well as access to the garage. Another great feature of this property is its proximity to the town of Fayetteville and outdoor activities at New River Gorge, yet, because of the size of the property you feel like you are out in the middle of nowhere! We LOVED the privacy and seclusion of this home and at the same time being close to everything. Stargazing from the outdoor deck is great as you are away from the city lights. We loved the outdoor fire pit and having those built-in stone seats are perfect (height, distance from the fire, etc.).

Summary: They pictures do not do this property justice. The pictures make the property look a bit dated but it is not. Spacious, clean, comfortable, private and welcoming. Our twin grandsons enjoyed pitching a tent in the loft. Our grown kids loved the privacy in the basement bunkroom next to the gameroom. The only complaint i have was that the master only had a queen bed. Must property we spend this amount of money master hold a king. Besides that we had enough bathrooms, sleeping, seating and cooking space.

Summary: Great large house well suited for a large family, extended family and the like. House was clean and well stocked. It was out in the woods and only a few miles from Fayettville, activities, trails, rafting and excellent restaurants.

Summary: We loved our stay. There were plenty of beds and plenty of bathrooms! The kitchen was furnished with everything a person would need to prepare meals. The location is peaceful and quiet. We'd surely stay again!
