Summary: Our family of 5 loved this house, good central location to explore the area around Tamarindo, nice and quiet, outside of the hustle and bustle of Tamarindo. The howler monkeys in the area can be heard through the valley it's quite cool! Marta came by and tidied up the house daily so we could spend maximum time at the beach. The kids loved surfing and boogie boarding and a sunset horse ack ride is a must. Our favorite beaches in the area were Flamingo and Allevena!! Thanks for sharing this amazing house with us!

Summary: Views galore!!! This house is amazing. Our family just could not get enough of the house, the views, the pool and pool table. It easily fit us five and I can see it fitting quite a bit more. My advice for the house is to download the directions via Google Maps and don’t worry about GPS. We never used our GPS with the rental car. Plus, the roads are easy to learn after a day or two and we went to Playa Flamingo, Rio Celeste, Monte Verde. Tamarindo, etc… Marta, is a great cook and overall solid person. Tia, is awesome communicator. Lastly, the best thing about staying at The Palm House is you get the authentic feel of Costa Rica that you never get at a hotel. ¡Pura Vida!

Summary: Overall, we were very happy with the Palm House! We stayed at the Palm House with another couple during our vacation this past February. The home is very beautiful! My biggest issue with the house was the location. It is advertised as 10 minutes from beaches/downtown. I am not sure how anyone is getting to downtown (7 miles away) in 10 minutes with 1/2 of the trip on dirt roads. It took us on average 20 minutes to get to Tamarindo Beach. We rented a 4WD SUV as recommended, but the dirt roads are not well maintained. There are potholes the size of bathtubs all over the road, on both sides, so driving over 20 MPH was not happening. Also part of the dirt road going up to the house (HUGE HILL), was washed away. So we seriously put the car into 4WD and all held on as I hit the gas to get up! Since we were spending a majority of our time downtown, it was a slight inconvenience to do that much driving. It would have been nicer to be slightly closer and rent a golf cart to go back and forth in to town. We did have an issue with the deadbolt on the front door, but we contacted Tia right away and she had it fixed within 24 hours! So communication with the property owners/mgmt was great! However, if you are planning on relaxing at the home most of the time you are there, this is the place for you! We used the grill outside, played pool, and laid by the pool. (Note - the chairs that are in the pictures are not there - there are different ones and the "pergola" in the pool was not setup either). Things to check out when you go: 1) Black Stallion BBQ (delicious!) 2) Green Papaya (AMAZING tacos) 3) Breakfast on the beach (Nogui's - get the huevos rancheros) 4) Sunset Catamaran (we went with Blue Dolphin) 5) Check out the El Mercadito de Tamarindo for a variety of food options!

Summary: We loved our week at Palm House. It's worth the drive out of town to get away from the bustle of Tamarindo and the evening mosquitos. It was windy, but we actually loved that. It was fun to listen to see night, and it is nature's air conditioner!! The outdoor room on this house is so wonderful; it's where we spent most of our time. It feels private, and the sunsets are amazing. Marta cooked for us one night... She is amazing. I highly recommend Palm House!!

Summary: Our family of six loved the house, pool and overall setting. It is a nice distance from the nearby beaches and the town of Tamarindo is only 20 minutes away by car. For any family interested in a peaceful getaway, this is ideal!

Summary: The Palm House embodies escapist desires if that's what you're coming to Costa Rica for. From the creatively designed patio with inifinity pool overlooking the country side to the design of the wind to pass through the floor plan to cool the home, this property is timeless. Marta cooked several meals for us and it was all delicious. Thank you for having us. We'd definitely stay here again if we make it back to this area of Costa Rica.

Summary: The owner was very attentive and communicated very well, the housekeeper did a great job of cleaning every day. We even had her cook breakfast one day and it was fantastic. The beds could be softer but other than that everything was fantastic

Summary: Palm House is better than the pictures depict. Our family of 6 immediately acclimated to the home and the amazing surroundings. Perched high on a hill allows amazing views. That is what I will miss the most. The home is great, but it is the outdoor living space coupled with the breathtaking views that make this home a 5+. A 4 wheel drive is a must to get up the dirt hills, but once you do you will not be disappointed. We also quickly used the hills for our morning exercise, further adapting to our stay! It takes about 15-20 minutes on dirt roads that are like washboards to get to Tamarindo. We didn't mind one bit and quickly adapted to the adventurous drive. We loved passing all the dogs and other wildlife that were on the road, so be sure to drive carefully. Tamarindo was wonderful. Some favorite restaurants were Pangas for the amazing waterfront location. You sit on the beach and enjoy your dinner. Food wasn't as good as some of the other places but you want to experience it once. Bamboo Sushi Club was a hit. On our second visit the town lost power twice during our dinner. Quite an adventure. We absolutely raved over Fish and Cheese. If you want authentic Italian food, find your way to this restaurant. Santa Rita Cafe quickly became our favorite breakfast restaurant. The owner is a former chef I believe from Paraguay. They are open for breakfast and lunch and they make clean and fresh food. The green green smoothie was on my menu each time. Wrap Soda was good for lunch. Wonderful sandwiches and wraps overflowing with fresh vegetables. My kids loved surfing and boogie boarding so we rented from Iguana surf shop most days. The beach across the street was perfect and became our favorite. We did a tour to Rincon de la Vieja where we ziplined, rode horses and tubed. A fantastic day. We also drove to Monte Verde and did a cloud forest tour. What a ride up there. Think really high and no guard rails and of course lots of winding dirt roads. Well worth the trip and the town is wonderful. The house was amazing. Marta cleaned almost every day and cooked for us one evening. She joined us for dinner and we did our best to learn Spanish. She is a wonderful blessing. The pool was the perfect temperature and we used it daily. The bedrooms have air conditioning that makes sleeping after long and busy days very comfortable. If I owned the house I would put a unit in the living room/kitchen area, but it was fine. Will definitely be back!!
