The Owl’s Nest is a secluded log sided cabin tucked away on 14 acres off of a private driveway surrounded by Forest Service. Conveniently located only 3.5 miles from Downtown Murphy where you can enjoy shopping, antiquing, restaurants/bars. There is plenty to do and see whether you are looking for a relaxing “get a way from it all” experience while sitting on the cabin deck overlooking the woods, enjoy a peaceful evening at the campfire or want to venture out and explore the area.
Hiking, fishing canoeing, mountain biking all within minutes of the cabin. Take a 30 minute drive to enjoy white water rafting on either the Ocoee or Nantahala River, zip lining, kayaking or horseback riding. Close to the John C. Campbell Folk school where you can enjoy concerts, take classes and attend the well known Fall Festival in October. Close to the Great Smoky Mountain National Park, The Blue Ridge Scenic Parkway, Georgia Mountain Fair Grounds, Joyce Kilmer National Forest,The Great Smoky Mountain Railroad, The Biltmore House and the Tail of the Dragon for the bikers. Located 5 miles from the Harrah's Valley River Casino. The Cabin is located within 2 hours of Pigeon Forge, Gatlinburg, Tennessee and 30 minute scenic drive to Blue Ridge, Georgia.

Summary: What a perfect cabin this is. So cozy and comfortable with everything you need to relax and unwind. We spent a weekend here enjoying the scenery, the small hiking trail and the visiting turkeys that would stroll through the property. The cabin is clean, quiet and nicely tucked away by itself. The kitchen is fully stocked to prepare meals and there's an abundance of towels in the bathroom to choose from. Janice is a wonderful host...very friendly, communicative and helpful. Although the cabin is secluded, it's nice to know that she's not too far down the road in case something is needed. I can't think of anything I'd change about this wonderful cabin.

Summary: Cabin was cozy and well stocked. There was plenty of information about area restaurants and attractions, as well as instructions on using the AC, TV and washer/dryer. The hosts thought of everything. Would recommend this place to friends and family.

Summary: My partner and I were very very happy and fortunate to have found the Owl's Nest. Janice and Randy were both lovely and communicative, especially during the storms. They took very good care of us with regards to set up, even going as far as putting out corn and seeds to attractive the wildlife in the morning (SO MANY turkeys, it was great.) Murphy had plenty for us to do and see, and Big Nick's was some of the best barbecue I've ever had. We both had a lovely time, and a delightfully quiet and private New Year. I suspect we'll be back!

Summary: Quiet, quaint, cozy cabin atop a mountain knoll. Private yet close to shopping and restaurants. Easy access to highway. Enjoyed watching the wildlife from porch. The bird feeders had lots of activity. Lighted stone fire pit area. Gas grill on porch. Cabin was comfortable and just the right size for my husband and I. Can’t wait for next visit.

Summary: My wife and I were in town taking classes at the Folk School, and this cabin was a lovely retreat. It was cozy without us feeling on top of each other, well stocked with toiletries, dishes, laundry, etc., and gave us that secluded mountain feeling while still being conveniently located near main roads. We would gladly stay here again, and highly recommend this cabin to anyone looking for their next getaway!

Summary: I absolutely loved this cabin and its location, it is super clean & cozy and has everything you could need for your stay. Very conveniently located. Gorgeous wooded area with perfect porch, I had a magnificent experience witnessing about 15-20 deer about the property this morning around sunrise!
