Only 90 minutes from Christchurch you will find this secluded property nestled between the old school and architecturally renowned St Andrews Church. The property is situated four kilometers from the beach, this stream side bungalow provides a relaxing break away.
You are twenty minutes from Akaroa which has a number of amenities. You are a short distance from a number of walks if you want to explore the Peninsular or simply relax and enjoy the native Kereru and Fantail that inhabit the surrounding trees.
For the children there is a stream at the back of the property which will keep them entertained for hours. The property is fenced although for those intent on escaping it is not fully secure.
The property is minutes from the beach and domain that contains tennis court, kids play ground, flying fox, basketball hoop and rope swing. The beach is safe for kids and there is a river at the southern end of the beach which is a perfect place to play and explore. Seals can often be seen playing around the rocks and Dolphins are often spotted in the bay.
The house has been renovated and has been tastefully decorated. This is an ideal destination for families and couples looking for a relaxing get away.

Summary: A good little getaway location close to the beach. The road (for me) was a bit hairy. Should havevtaken a smaller car, and left the V8 at home 😀

Summary: It was a great experience staying in the property, very safe for kids and dog. 5 minutes drive to beach. Its a nice quiet place, sheep's, cows farms are around and natural habitats for lots of birds. Stream behing the property is great. Owner expect to clean the property at the end of your stay, it was ok for us to do, as much as we could.. definitely recommended.

Summary: Very nice house, and lovely location. Very quiet. Be aware that there are no shops in Le Bons Bay - not a problem, just need to be organised! Akaroa is only 20 mins away, beautiful drive and lovely town. The zipline and cemetery nearby are well worth a visit. Amazing countryside around. Small point, but water pressure is low, and the water pump is a little noisy - suggest turn off at night. No problem doing this; just turn it on again in the morning. It was lovely to stay here as the property was as advertised – I cannot say the same for other Bookabach properties. Immediately after staying here, we stayed at a “Cottage” in Windwhistle (the Granary) that turned out to be 2 cottages conjoined by a paper-thin wall. Very noisy - neighbours clumping up and down creaky stairs next door, talking (you can hear everything), being woken up (at night and morning). Awful. This Le Bons Bay property is the opposite – very nice and no “surprises”. Excellent.

Summary: We had a wonderful stay at Le Bon bay. The beds are comfortable and the house is well equipped with everything you need. Every morning we sat in the deck in the sunshine as it’s a little sun trap. The children loved playing in the creek and Le bon beach is one of our favourite places to visit and swim. Thanks for the stay - we will be back for sure.

Summary: i had a lovely wee stay. It was peaceful and quiet, what i wanted. I experienced all weathers while there but was lovely and warm inside...logburner was great. Lovely to just sit and listen to native birds

Summary: A beautiful windy road with breathtaking views will take you to a secluded house away from the hustle and bustle of life. Nice fireplace with lots of wood stacked ready to go and extra heating is provided for cold winter days. The water pump was working overhours and struggled to fill the toilet due to blocked water filters, but owner was very good about it and communicated that they would look at it. Overall we really enjoyed our stay and can definitely recommend! Thanks for having us :)

Summary: Comfortable & welcoming bungalow in beautiful bay. Loved having the fire, some matches beside it would have been good. Would have helped to know the microwave is in the laundry, as we did not go in there until leaving. Fridge froze our vegies.
