The villa is set in the heart of the Salento countryside, a wonderfully rustic and timeless part of Puglia in the deep south of Italy. It is extremely well-appointed, with modern facilities throughout and a huge terrace surrounding the entire property, ideal for eating, relaxing and sunbathing. The villa has been insulated to keep it pleasantly cool even during the hottest months, but there is also free air-con in the bedrooms and ceiling fans throughout. There are two double bedrooms, 2 shower rooms (one en-suite), free wi-fi, and a family-sized kitchen with dishwasher and washing machine. The living area has a TV with a large library of recent films plus Amazon Prime Video, and a sofa bed providing extra sleeping capacity for 2 further guests.
We have a hectare of land with olive groves (please note we are during 2023/24 replanting our olive trees due to a serious disease affecting the whole region - see our pictures), fruit trees and a vineyard, a stone BBQ, and we are developing a garden with lawn and local flora. There is a swimming pool (June - September) with its own dedicated terrace available for guests' exclusive and private use. The villa is peaceful and secluded, with the owners living only 100m away and always on hand to provide any advice or assistance.We are conveniently located in the middle of the Salento region, 20 minutes from the nearest beach and within striking distance of the entire peninsula. Salento has remained unchanged for generations: it is covered with thousands of acres of olive trees, has historic towns and villages, a spectacular coastal road, and countless beaches and coves. Although popular with Italian holidaymakers, it is seldom visited by foreign tourists and the locals will invariably give you a warm welcome. We are also less than half an hour from the wonderful Baroque city of Lecce, probably one of the most beautiful, atmospheric and yet least-visited of major Italian cities. A holiday in Salento is ideal for people who enjoy beach life, or exploring little-known corners of the Mediterranean - or who just want to relax in comfort, soaking up the summer sun.

Summary: We stayed for 2 weeks in July and loved the house and private pool. The house has everything you could possibly need for a very comfortable stay. We had a mixture of days by the pool and BBQs in the evenings and days out. We loved the covered terrace which was great as the days were so hot. The air-conditioning in the bedrooms was a life saver. We visited Otranto, Gallipoli, Matera, Santa Maria de Leuca, and Alberobello. There is so much to do. But special mention has to go to Bill our host who was so helpful to us when we needed to get our car into the garage in Cutrofiano. He gave numerous lifts and translated so the problems were solved with minimum stress and disruption to our holiday. We can't praise Bill enough!! We would love to go back 😀

Summary: A wonderfully peaceful location, we were able to relax and feel at home straight away. Bill was extremely helpful and friendly, willing to help out with guidance for the area. The welcome pack of essentials given our late arrival time was wonderful so we could rest after the journey. If we had specific questions Bill was always on hand and helped above and beyond what is expected. The villa itself was clean, comfortable and spacious with everything you could need for your holiday. The private use pool was a wonderful respite from the heat of the day. We definitely intend to return to the villa to repeat the experience.

Summary: Stayed for 8 nights. Communication with Bill prior to our trip was really good. When we arrived he was there to meet us and went through local restaurants, beaches, etc. (His green book is an invaluable source of information). The villa was exactly what we wanted. In a lovely countryside location but 10 minute drive to restaurants and 25 mins to the east, west and south coast, ideal for sightseeing and the beaches. Villa itself is great, spacious, spotlessly clean, huge grounds and great pool. Really enjoyed our time here and would highly recommend.

Summary: Beautiful villa in a quiet peaceful location. The villa has everything you could possibly need, it is very well equipped even grocery essentials to start you off! Bill and Tracy have gone the extra mile when thinking about their guests comfort and needs. It’s a great spot to explore the surrounding area and off the tourist track. Cutrofiano is the nearest town about a 10 min drive with a few restaurants, cafes and supermarkets. We had a great chilling week here and the pool was very welcome in the August heat!

Summary: Lovely villa in quiet country location and only 10 mins drive to nearest small town for supermarket, restaurants etc. The owners, Bill & Tracey, were great and could not be more helpful. They live a short distance away, they are on hand should any problems occur, but they are very unintrusive. Bill has produced a very useful 'bible' containing information regarding the villa, local shops and restaurants, and places to visit with maps and directions. This was invaluable. There is a small pool which is wonderful to cool off in on hot days and the covered terrace is perfect for eating outside or chilling on the sun loungers at the end of a hard day's sightseeing. Having spent a month in this beautiful hideaway we can thoroughly recommend Villa Della Mora to anyone looking to explore this delightful part of Puglia. We thoroughly enjoyed our stay and would not hesitate to return.

Summary: The property is comfortable and well-equipped and the owners have added lots of nice touches to ensure a great stay whatever the weather. We really appreciated the selection of films on hard drive when the weather was poor, as well as the efficient heater (we stayed in mid-May 2019 when the weather was unusually wet and cool). It's within easy reach of the coast on either side of the peninsula and the owners have provided comprehensive information about things to do in the area, as well as places to eat. We particularly enjoyed Otranto and the drive south from there along the coast road. It was very sad to see so many run down or abandoned properties and diseased olive trees in the vicinity but that did not detract too much from our overall enjoyment of the holiday.

Summary: We have just returned from a lovely holiday in Italy. This house in Cutrofiano was by far our favorite property so far. Bill and Tracey have thought of everything to make your holiday memorable. Property was very clean, very well equipped, and there was a very generous welcome hamper waiting for us on arrival. The surrounding area is lovely and very peaceful. We loved it. The only thing I'd suggest Bill changes is the photos on the website, they really don't do the place justice. Thanks Bill.

Summary: 'Such a lovely villa, with a welcoming basket of local food to settle us in & so well equiped with everything you needed including a brilliant, helpful folder to find your way around the area & all it offered. Surrounded by a lovely garden, with own pool & acres of olive groves in the centre of the heel of Italy in Puglia with both coasts only a few kilometers away. Only stayed for one week but felt like home everytime we returned from a trip in the beautiful area. Can't thank Bill enough for his help & letting us have the chance to stay in his beautiful villa. It was a suprise present from our daughter & son & we couldn't have picked a more perfect place to stay!'

Summary: The house is prettier than on the pictures. It is nicely renovated, very clean and has everything you need ! It is in the countryside it is very quiet, so it is great to relax... the beds are comfortable. In 30 minutes or less you can go anywhere almost (beaches on both coast, nice Cities...). The owners were very kind and helpfull. We highly recommend this villa !!!
