Summary: We stayed at La Roumade for a week in August 2019 and had a great holiday. Lovely friendly hosts , spacious comfortable accommodation (and cool in the hot weather), great pool, beautiful countryside, and interesting local walking & wildlife. Far enough out of the towns to avoid streelight pollution so the stars at night were glorious. We were sad to leave, and hope to be back sometime.

Summary: Very comfortable, well-equipped gite surrounded by beautiful countryside. So quiet, peaceful and relaxing. The swimming pool was kept spotlessly clean and at the perfect temperature. Comfortable sun loungers provided with soft mattresses and shade if required under a lovely walnut tree. The hosts were so welcoming, friendly and helpful; providing anything we needed but never intruding on our privacy. Local town of Mirepoix well worth a visit, especially on market day. A good location for visiting Carcassonne, Rennes le Chateau, the Cathar castles and only an hour from the beautiful beach at Narbonne. A lovely place to relax, but plenty of activities available too.
