Positive: The staff were fluent in English and communicated very well, which made everything easy and pleasant. The room was spotless and offered a beautiful view. Although our room had a private onsen, I especially enjoyed visiting the public onsen—the atmosphere was completely different and very relaxing. I truly wished I could have stayed longer to enjoy more of what the resort offers.

Negative: Told no airport transfer at time of booking, not offered alternative (though friendly staff did booking taxi as requested, once asked).. Booked 2 months ahead, though was not offered option to check in earlier, even for a fee and despite the plan of leaving 5h early in morning just told to return at 3, not really guided to any options except bar, felt superfluous. After long day of travelling some comfort would be great. Luggage was taken to room 1.5h ahead of check in. Location too far to return to local tourist attractions in town. Not told about nearby terrace businesses nor offered their 20% discount there. Though different business; owner of American Burger on terraces took 500y extra and had to be challenged, then said 'was mistake'. Told to look on internet for dinner menu, then call to order ahead of time. Set menus only. Dinner very expensive, as much as room. Well presented, lobster not super fresh by taste. Excellent service but rushed at end with dessert brought before msins and wine finished, as they were soon closing. All in all with meal, over $700 AUD for 14h. Room clean but average, thermal waters lovely (booked room onsen). General public still entering thermal springs (en masse) after 9pm; therefore felt no advantage being motel guest. Did not feel happy with experience, staff lovely but service left us feeling unvalued for our patronage.
