Dawn on the Lake is a cheery, well-maintained home situated on a large waterfront lot on Poplar Creek off Lake Gaston. With four bedrooms and four full baths, it’s the ideal place for a family vacation, holiday gathering, tying the knot, or even a quiet, romantic weekend. No matter the season, Dawn on the Lake is the perfect place to social distance, relax and get away from it all.
The house has three cozy levels nestled into the bank of the Poplar creek. The road or upper-level contains a five-space parking area connected to the house by a raised walkway. The upper-level entrance is equipped with a smart lock. Covered in bamboo flooring, the upper-level has two bedrooms that share a full bath: the Thunderbolt Room has a king-size bed and a double-size futon; and, the Bowtie Room has a queen-size bed.
The laminated main or middle-level has an open floor plan with a living room, eat-in kitchen, entertainment area, and full bath. The kitchen is well-equipped with a flat-top stove/oven, dishwasher, microwave, Keurig, coffee grinder, toaster, and refrigerator, and is stocked with plates, bowls, glasses, coffee mugs, silverware, pots, pans, and utensils. The dining table seats eight, and the kitchen has a breakfast bar with seven stools in the entertainment area. The living room and entertainment area are perfect gathering spots and serve as additional sleeping areas with a pull-out queen-size sofa bed. The living room opens up to a large screened-in deck with a ceiling fan where you can relax and enjoy the sunset over the lake. The unscreened portion of the deck has a gas grill and exterior steps which lead to the lake-level and lower parking.
The lake-level has two bedrooms and two full bathrooms. The Moon Room with its stunning lake-view is furnished with a king-size bed and contains an ensuite full bath. The Seashell Room has a queen-size bed and a double-size futon. The lake-level has a separate full bath, and the gathering room between the bedrooms has a double-size futon. On the lake-level you will find a full-sized washer/dryer, a second refrigerator, and an exterior exit to another parking area with three additional parking spaces.
Dawn on the Lake provides outdoor activities for the whole family. The lakeside front yard is grass-covered and perfect for play, swinging under the pergola, or a good night story next to the fire pit under the night sky filled with stars. The property has a private pier equipped with rubber bumpers from which you can safely fish, float, and swim. The water is relatively shallow, so jumping or diving from the dock is not permitted. If you have a boat, you can launch at the recreational area just minutes away and dock at the pier. The beautiful, wide creek is great for water skiing, jet skiing, fishing, or just cruising. A canoe and kayak are available for your use. Paddles are included, but be sure to bring your own life jackets.
The house is child-friendly, but not child-proof. There are emergency exits on each level. Each level is equipped with a fire extinguisher: on the upper level, at the entrance to the house; on the middle level, in front of the refrigerator; and on the lower level, by the door. Board games are available for use, and the house has TVs and a DVD player. The house is climate controlled with heat and air conditioning on all three levels. Linens and towels are provided, but must be washed, dried, and returned to their original location upon departure. Check-in is 4:00 pm. Check-out is 10:00 am. The cleaning crew arrives at 10:30 am.

Summary: Dawn was very accommodating and very responsive. The main living room /kitchen area was a great space to share family time together. Everyone enjoyed swimming in the lake, using the canoe and paddle boat! We enjoyed a day of golf as well! A great place to build lasting memories!

Summary: This was a very nice place with lots of room. Enjoyed every minute. I was shocked that the pool cost $7 per person/ per day, I thought it was included with the stay. Other than that it was good, we had a great time.

Summary: The property had everything we needed. Very well stocked. I wish we had been allowed to use the neighborhood ramp to drop off our jet skis without paying $7 but the public ramp wasn't far so we used that instead.

Summary: Had a great time. The property was nice. It was s little out dated and the extras to use such as life vests and kayaks were in dinky condition, so we didnty want to use them.

Summary: The house was large enough to accommodate my group of six adults and three children. With three levels there are stairs so folks with mobility issues may have problems. The neighborhood and the whole lake gave off a safe, low key, uncrowded, family vibe. Everyone we met on the water or on land gave us a smile or wave. The house is close to the end of one of the creek arms off the main lake. There is a two-person canoe with paddles, a one-person kayak without a paddle and a two-person paddle boat that looks like it has not been used in a while. We rented a ponton boat from a local marina who dropped off and picked up from the house's bock. Caught catfish casting a bottom rig with sausage straight out from the house dock. Caught smaller fish using a very small hook, bobber, worm set- up in the morning and evening as small fish move into and out of the vegetation to the left of the dock. Host was responsive.

Summary: Our family felt right at home in this cozy house. We especially loved and appreciated the lake access, our canoe ride to the swimming area, the screened-in porch with soothing chimes, and well stocked kitchen! We had everything we needed for a fun family vacation with our adult children. We boated in the sun all day, and played board games at the table every evening. Made for lasting memories for sure.

Summary: We rented this house and another just down the street for a family reunion. This house was very comfortable and it was very nice to hang out in the water and the lawn area. It was very hot the week we were there and so floating in the water was enjoyable. The house was as advertised and all worked well. The washing of the bed linens and towels prior to leaving with a 10:00am checkout was not ideal and I really wish there had been another option. We knew that coming in, but it made for an early morning for all on checkout day. Owner was responsive with any of our needs.
