Positive: The property is beautiful and I received a very warm welcome. My room was lovely, with fruit trees just outside, and a little koi pond that provided soothing water sounds. It’s right in the middle of a touristy area (which you could not hear once inside the property and room), so easy access to restaurants, shops, etc, and not a far walk to options for escaping the crowds - Monkey Forest, Campuhan Ridge Walk, rice paddies. Perfect stop for the first couple nights to rest and adjust before moving on. They arranged for a driver to pick me up from the airport (extra charge), which was very much appreciated to not have to plan another travel step after a 36 hour flight :). Oh, and they provide free drinking water for refilling your water bottle - which in my heart should be the defaut, but sadly is not always the case. Highly recommended!!

Positive: It’s located in the very lively center of Ubud, in a street full of restaurants, shops and massage salons but very quiet as it is mostly pedestrian - your taxi can drop you and pick you up at the guesthouse yet. It is an excellent value for money as the room is spacious and clean. The semi-private balcony is nice to take your breakfast or meditate in front of the lovely garden, with the sound of the birds and of the fountain downstairs. And the owner is incredibly helpful, flexible, smiling and prompt to respond when you need anything.
Negative: All was good except perhaps the breakfast which is made of a tea or an instant coffee and you have to choose one day in advance 1 of the 3 available choices (including fried eggs, a Balinese pudding and another one). But it’s ok and you can easily complement it outside around the corner if you want to get some fruits, pancakes or açai bowls.
Summary: I would definitely recommend this address to my friends.

Positive: What a wonderful place! It’s in the middle of a quiet garden but in the real centre of Ubud. Not a luxurious accommodation but very authentic and clean. Yoyok is an amazing host! He helped with everything we needed - scooter, laundry, transport to Gili Islands. We really liked that you can have a real Balinese breakfast with many options (rice porridge with egg, satay, sweet cakes with coconut and palm syrup) - did not see it anywhere else. We had a great time!

Positive: We loved the host there. Yoyok & Mimi were terrific during this stay, ensuring our stay was comfortable. Here, it's very first-time-visitor friendly as you can converse with the host here in English and get to know of popular places from them. Massage is done by Mimi, who has many years of experience; be sure to let her know where you often face problems. Many people come back to her when they are visiting Bali. Plus point is since it's a home business, I don't have to specially travel out for one. Water is provided by refilling your bottles, The Bathroom is extremely spacious. The location is easily walkable to common places in Ubud. They are near SPAs, Batik Classes, Eats. Near the famous Babi Guling Ibu Oka in Ubud too! It's a great place to chill with nearby activities if you're not the sort to go on tours but want to rest outside of your country. However, if you need drivers, you can speak to Yoyok to arrange if you're unfamiliar!
Negative: Nothing too major, just ants, which is normal in Bali or any place with lots of plants. The place is beautiful with the plants, so it's a small inconvenience.

Positive: I stayed (unfortunately) only one night but had a great experience at Shana Homestay. First of all, the room was comfortable and spacious and very clean. The whole place felt very quiet and peaceful although it's located in the very center of Ubud. Yoyok and his family are wonderful hosts, available anytime and most importantly very generous and hospitable. They invited me to a family temple ceremony which was very interesting and offered me delicious Balinese food 😊 Matur Suksma 🙏 I will definitely stay at their place again and absolutely recommend it to anyone!
