Positive: My stay at Shangri-La Guangzhou was fantastic. The location is excellent, with easy access to the metro, buses, and taxis. A special shoutout to the Concierge team — Jacky, Adam, and Kasper were absolute lifesavers! They helped me book taxis, set up WeChat, and even arranged train tickets. Their professionalism and genuine care made my stay truly stress-free and memorable. I hope management recognises their amazing contribution — they are the heart of this hotel. I would highly recommend Shangri-La Guangzhou to anyone visiting the city.

Positive: Breakfast: Pretty good, usual Shangri-la standard. Lots of choice and quick refills. Salads and fruits were very fresh, and the cooked foods were nice. Kudos to the chefs at the omelette station who made every omelette to perfection. Rooms: Aain, the usual Shangri-la standard. Clean, tidy, luxurious. Things are well-maintained, although some elements are a little outdated. Overall, pretty good. View: fantastic view of the river. no complaints. Location: For those attending any fairs at the exhibition centre, it is super convenient and close by. Within 10 10-minute of walking (maybe 8 for those speedy, impatient walkers) Gym: Clean, lots of equipment choices. Nice view and for those that enjoy the look of daylight in a room but with nice aircon - the gym is your jam. Pastries, cakes & dessert: Not sure if it was because I had a long day at the expo, overloaded with information or because it was uber hot, the ice cream bar and the cakes were especially heavenly as I bought them from downstairs, and slowly enjoyed them while looking out to the view in the room.
Negative: Pool - design and facilities were a bit outdated. It could use an upgrade. Good for paddling, or quick, non-intensive workout swim; not ideal tho for the strong swimmers who fancy 25m or 50m 1.2~1.8m depth pools. Not a complaint or dislike per se. Just bringing awareness to others. It also has a lovely skylight, but the air ventilation is a bit below par so during summer high sun, it's stuffy and somewhat uncomfortable.
Summary: Will come back again.

Positive: Walking distance from canton fair. But it was 15 minutes around. Definetely not 3 minutes
Negative: They increase too much the prices for canton fair....even 3 times more than ussual. Most of the personel dont speak english.
