Positive: What an incredible location! Lovely family run place, with amazing private rooms, spending time living in the open. Loved the Tokays in the room too (big Geckos)

Positive: Excellent assistance, cosy bed. Not many mosquitoes. Amazing five-star vista with monkeys, birds, and butterflies all around, and great orange juice for breakfast. The villa is about a 5-minute drive from a good Italian restaurant. Just to take in the stunning view, you may spend a day at this villa. It is among Bali's greatest views.
Negative: There are no windows or doors, so everything is open. You are responsible for any forest creatures that fly in or crawl towards you. Energy of nature and climate there are quite particular. The open concept doesn't suit me.

Positive: location was amazing and staff was helpful and kind
Negative: the property is not closed and you will live under the constant fear of animals or reptiles entering it. Also after dark 7:30 there’s no scope for any kind of services like food so you have to order before 7:30. And there are no microwaves to heat up the food. At night you will be surrounded by reptiles like geckos making sounds which might scare you! Staff is not present after dark and you are on your own! Also dont fly drones coz the terrain is such that you might lose your gps and end up losing it in the woods which happened with us. Although the staff was kind enough to send a local guide with us in search for it but we ran out of luck and weren’t able to find it.
Summary: pleasant stay with a view but difficult to reach and good for a day or two at max.

Positive: We absolutely loved our stay here! We couldn't believe how beautiful it was when we saw it for the first time! It really feels like paradise! My partner was quite ill when we arrived at Shigar Livin and the hosts were so kind to us, they even made him some ginger tea! The views are really so special, it is private and beautiful and we didn't want to leave. The private tub was brilliant when it got too hot outside! And the food options were great and delivered straight to our villa. Just a note - this villa very much has a camping feel to it, you can put the blinds down but it is still outside, this means that there will be bugs and small animals around and the bed feels slightly damp by morning. It also gets a little cold in the evening, so make sure to bring long sleeve jumper and comfy trousers. This is not a negative, as we enjoy camping and being close to nature, but maybe bear this in mind if nature isn't for you. There really is no comparison though to the stunning view when you wake up in the morning! We think its definitely worth it! In fact, we found this place so special that we ended up getting engaged here! 💍

Positive: You won't find a better view anywhere else. We would recommend staying here for 3 nights as anything less won't allow you to soak it all in. We rented a motorbike for 1 day only as we wanted to enjoy the property (read, rest, meditate, tan etc). It's the perfect place to slow down and relax. Considering you're in nature, you aren't bombarded with animals or mosquitos. There's definitely geckos and lizards around (maybe leaving a poo or two on the floor :D). The mosquito net on the bed is amazing and makes you feel protected during night time. The Mexican breakfast was delicious!! Just want to note there is no door in the bathroom. Didn't affect our stay but maybe if two friends are sharing, some might find it uncomfortable.
Negative: Small things: The wifi was terrible almost non existent in the room . We had some calls scheduled and we had to either reschedule or sit on the steps to get a good enough connection. We had 2 beautifully sunny days, followed by 24h of rain. Now when the rain comes it can get a little boring as you feel a little stuck with not much to do.

Positive: Everything other than bed Size and mosquitoes risk.
Negative: Lots of mosquitoes not suitable for family. Bed size is small for 2 adults and 2 kid. They have an arrangement for mosquitoes repalaint and mosquitoes net etc but with kids it is still worrisome as the house will be fully open. Good for couples and arrange for your own dinner , if you are reaching a bit late.

Positive: This was a beautiful family run luxurious villa! Absolutely loved the view from the property. It was so magical to be able to see and hear the river from the villa. I also loved how the villa was partially outside. Especially when a nice breeze came through. We even saw monkeys from the pool! It was so nice to be so removed from the busier other parts of Bali. I anticipated that the mosquitoes would be really bad but they were fine, although being from Australia we were kind of used to the mozzies and insects which can be expected as you are kind of in the middle of the jungle. The service from this villa was amazing, it felt like we were immersed into a community. The owner's brother in-law owned a restaurant up the road which had amazing balinese food that was delivered to our villa. We were also able to have a cooking class with them which was such an insightful and enjoyable experience. There were so many activities (sliver making, white water rafting, hiking, cooking) to do around that was organised all through the villa which contributed to such a great experience. Everyone we interacted with went above and beyond to help us and ensure we had an enjoyable time there and it was greatly appreciated. Would highly recommend this villa!
Negative: This place is very remote, and you can only get around via car/scooter so consider this before booking! Personally this made our experience better however some people may not like having to drive everywhere. This also meant that we only had two restaurants close by despite the fact they were quite good, there was not much variety. However you can easily visit the neighbouring town for more restaurants.
Summary: A beautiful relaxing family-run villa totally immersed in the jungle.
