Positive: Great location near the beach. Shower was amazing! One of the best showers I’ve had in Thailand. Great water pressure and hot water Restaurant and bar area was cute Polite staff and easy to check in/out and was able to leave bags

Negative: Really missed having a fridge but due to the cost of the room understandable why there’s not one Pool isn’t the cleanest so didn’t use

Positive: - Felt very safe. - Hot water. - Quiet on a night, couldn’t hear noise in the private rooms.

Negative: - Name is ‘Shiralea Resort’ but it’s very much a hostel setup. - It’s very far from the Full Moon/Jungle/Waterfall Party. (It’s 400 per person for a shared shuttle to the Full Moon Party). - Weird vibe from the receptionists when we checked in. - Had these tiny ants everywhere in the room. - Not a powerful shower. - Wanted a deposit to use a second towel. - Very hard pillows. - Keep proof of what you’ve paid. At checkout they tried to charge us for a bar tab that wasn’t ours. We hadn’t bought a single thing from the bar. Then a guy behind us was checking out, he paid for his extended nights upfront but when checking out they tried to charge him again for extending.

Positive: I liked the atmosphere in the restaurant and thatbit closed early so there was no loud noise past 8pm. I also loved the gym!

Negative: I wish there was a smoking and non-smoking section. The pool chairs need soft cushions

Positive: Loved the dorm bed with almirah. The beds are large and super comfy. AC works well. The social area is one of the best on the island. And there is a nice gym to workout as well.. Not to forget the beach which is 2 minutes walk away.

Positive: The staff were always helpful and explained what was available to be book or do on the island. Great that there is a gym, pool and nice communal area to hang out in - all of which are well looked after. The bathrooms feel fairly new with wear and tear pretty minimal which is good! The location is great as it’s in a quieter area with the beach and restaurants near by but I would say you need a scooter to explore. For the price of this hostel I would say it’s pretty good for what you get in terms of the facilities!

Negative: We stayed in a mixed dorm room which was quite small and cramped and could do with a bit of an upgrade as the beds were quite uncomfortable. Unfortunately we found the cleanliness of the shared bathroom to be quite poor even though the cleaners do a great job once they have been in - i would say one clean a day isn’t enough for the number of people using them daily.
