Summary: Quick check in for a one night stay. Room was comfy enough but very dated and there are SO many stairs! Even after using the lifts to change floors there are lots of steps on the corridors, difficult to negotiate with a large bag.

Summary: Booked the hotel on the basis of the spa and outdoor spa etc. At no point was I informed I would need to book until I turned up at the spa, I was informed I’d need to book dinner but neither in the booking or check in was I told I had to book to use the spa pool etc. The staff in the spa were totally dismissive despite showing them my reservation and that I had not been give any instructions to book a slot! Absolutely appalled, complete waste of a trip, might as well have stayed in a holiday Inn….. The food in the bar came out in bits and a portion of chips arrived 20 minutes after I’d finished the first bit, which were cold and stale Deluxe double room apparently - nothing deluxe about it, slightly larger maybe? Bath /shower was leaking as a result when I woke up in the morning to get a shower I slipped on the way in on a huge pool of water. I just stay away 40-50 times a year and I’ve never experience such a disappointing trip. Despite the beautiful setting and location, I will not be returning.

Summary: The views are absolutely fantastic, we didn’t try golf or spa, so couldn’t comment on those. The hotel is dated and cleaning needs to massively improve. After our first night, room wasn’t cleaned, we checked at reception and they said they were still being done (around 4pm) we went back after dinner, towels were replaced even though we had hung two up to reuse and not used two, bed was pulled over not made and cups hadn’t been washed, water replaced. Day 2, beds made, all towels replaced regardless of use, cups washed and no water. Very inconsistent, also cob webs everywhere, liquid splash marks up walls and stains on carpet. We requested a downstairs room after a knee injury, this wasn’t acknowledged or actioned, but one lift was out of order and we had to drag suitcases up and down 3-4 sets of stairs, after three days I had to go back to using knee braces after being free of them for almost 6 weeks, so please bare in mind. Also Peacocks are beautiful but wake early, the first night for us this was 02:30hrs. We wouldn’t return due to cleanliness and noise from Peacocks.

Summary: The hotel overall, was tired and all communal areas were dirty. Our room was so far away from reception we were almost in a different postcode to the main hotel. One of our party had limited mobility and traversing the hotel was incredibly challenging with lifts out of order and a ‘rabbit warren’ of corridors that are not signposted clearly. On the way to our room (357) the corridors are strewn with mismatched dusty, stained furniture that clearly looks as though they have been dumped there for want of a better place to put them. The carpets, doors and walls are worn and dirty. The bathroom clearly hadn’t been refurbished since the 90’s. It was old and appeared dirty and stained. Breakfast was far from adequate in a room that had stained furniture and disgusting carpets. Poor choice of continental breakfast foods. I will be placing a review on trip advisor and contacting the manager

Summary: Stayed for 2 nights, didnt replace bottled water, Coffee, milks sugar etc for second night let alone make the bed. Also was a cost to using the facilities pool etc which was highlighted when booking despite lots of pictures of a lovely pool. Paid a lot and didnt get much. would have been just as well of in a Premier Inn/ Travelodge.

Summary: Grounds and views stunning but hotel rooms tired and old fashioned and not the cleanest but ok, building is like a maze and only a couple of lifts going to different parts of the building. Not accessible really for those with poor mobility and quite pricey for what it is. Bar very expensive.

Summary: Beautiful hotel in beautiful (golf course) grounds. Food adequate. Room (245) was pleasant but double glazing poor as spent the night listening to a screech owl in adjacent trees - so minimal sleep! Also room was set up for single occupancy with no bedside lamp on one side of bed. And, noise insulation between rooms and between room and corridor poor. Overall, disappointing return to an hotel we last visited some years ago.
