Positive: Overall, our stay was pleasant. There are a few things that could be improved, but they didn't upset us to disturb the holiday mood. Everything was provided as described and the towels were even refreshed at the middle of our stay.

Negative: The trash recycling system wasn't explained before hand and it was unclear what to do with it. The owners live upstairs and the apartments are joined by a staircase behind locked wooden door next to the bed. That in itself is ok, but we had a situation where the owners came in for towel changing without clear communication before hand. They knocked repeatedly and waited for a bit before entering, but it still startled us as we were not expecting anything. Not exactly the owner's fault, but there is a loose sewer grate just outside the apartment, which causes immense sound every time a car passes. This frequently jump scared us during the night even though all windows were closed. Lastly, the apartment was a bit dark.

Positive: The complex was very safe. Great balcony out the back with a view of the sea. Parking was great. Very convenient

Negative: The lighting in the kitchen did not work.

Positive: The place is lovely and the owner is a lovely lady that help with everything you need. We came quite late and she wait for us. Just remember that the place is not in a city center, you need to drive like 10 minutes to the main road and than you can go to a "bugger" town

Positive: - very large room, didn’t feel crowded at wall - large kitchen area, fully equipped - nice patio - quiet neighbourhood - late check-in allowed - free parking (not in front of the door, but 1 min walking distance away, very convenient) - appreciated the board games - decorated in a traditional style, very nice

Negative: - the description on Booking says “one bedroom, one living room” — this is misleading, since the entire space is a big open space, there are no doors between the “bedroom” and the”living room” area. I wouldn’t have booked this accommodation if it would have been clearly stated this fact. - the description on Booking also says “breakfast available, pay at the property” - this was another reason for choosing this facility and it also proved wrong. No breakfast option available onsite or even nearby. - the location itself is very nice, in a complex of similar apartments, but it is far from the beach. - Aci Castello is the opposite of “stroller friendly” or even pedestrian friendly. We tried to reach the beach promenade by foot, with the stroller, we thought it would be a nice 30 min morning walk through the city, but this completely ruined our day. There are no sidewalks for pedestrians, you have to walk on the street, with the cars passing next to you. It was very stressful. I recommend taking the car and parking it to the castle and only walk on the Riviera dei Ciclopi, if you have a baby with you. - Agressive Mosquitoes in the patio, unfortunately we could not stay there in the evenings.
