If you are wondering about Hurricane Helene…we survived with no damages. Trees that were down have been cleaned up and it is easy to get here. Plus we have sweet, deep well water. No need to bring bottled water.
Come, help heal our region. We’ve missed you! Though there are pockets of devastation in our region, we are not one of them. It’s time for you to breathe in the green of the woods and the purple of the mountains. Lots of light in this cabin so it's easy to relax . Hiking trails to the farm right outside you door.

SOAK to relax! We have a heart-shaped, whirlpool hot tub in the master bath. But if you want to be under the stars, we have that too, with a two person hot tub on the patio. Constructed in 2017 with romance in mind...simple, private and did we mention...clean?

The main level has two bedrooms and two bathrooms each on opposite ends to ensure your privacy. Meet in the middle kitchen/living room or spread out on the deck where there are polywood glider chairs and swivel bar stools. The hot tub, however, holds two. Need to spread out more? For 3 couples you will have another King bedroom in the daylight lower level with the game room, TV and kitchenette. If you need to expand even more, we have 3 XL bunks in the game room. Do you see the steps in the picture? That is your access to the two levels. No steps are inside the home. Come around to the back to enter onto the main level with a ramp (no steps). Yes, it looks like a duplex but we will NEVER rent the two floors out separately. It is for you to spread out in, giving a touch more privacy to those you bring with you. The hot tub, however, is designed for two.

We’ve been in the vacation rental business since 2004 as private owners. With this Silver Lining Cabin we aim to accommodate 3 couples of friends or 3 generations with easy living space OR to give honeymooners a luxury suite.
We have real wood floors, a gas log stove in a flag stone corner and a covered deck -a winter view of the mountains and summer views of the trees. You are 960 sq ft on top of 960 sq ft (daylight basement). Fire pit with wood provided, porch swing, blueberry bushes are in the yard.
Silver Lining Cabin completes the quadrilogy of vacation rentals that Cloud 9 Farm already has: Heavenly Hideaway Cabin for 2 and Cloud 9 Relaxation Home for up to 6 and Sawyer's Cabin for 2-4.
Why the name...Silver Lining Cabin? Well, to keep a positive outlook on life, you'd better look on the sunny side of those lemons that life throws your way. We wanted to create a place where you could contemplate that.
You will be right on the border of our Cloud 9 Farm but you must access Silver Lining Cabin through a quiet development by car. It is almost at the end of a cul de sac neighborhood, with the privacy of Cloud 9 Farm’s Conservation Easement on two sides. A privacy fence does shield you from another house in the development. We have a concrete driveway that looks steep but it is not a problem to traverse with any car. If you like to walk, you will have a pathway to Cloud 9's trails and all that the farm has to offer. (A couple miles of wooded hiking trails, the Cloud 9 Event area with Peterson pond, picnic area and horse shoes, Bocci ball and Croquet court. Or just stop by the pasture fence to call the spoiled cattle and feed them some apples.)
We are pet friendly for up to two dogs. There is a separate pet fee.

Summary: Our Family (me, wife, daughter (18), and son (16) had a wonderful time staying at Silver Lining this week. The house is effectively two separate levels (no internal stair), but it didn’t really hinder our experience at all. Upstairs is a little nicer with full kitchen, family room, access to an awesome deck (all new high-end furniture), and 2BR’s. Master bath adjoining was amazing. Downstairs was perfect for the kids with foosball & air hockey and triple bunks, small kitchenette, and one private BR (no TV). The drive up to house was pretty steep, but not a problem (just might be scary in winter weather?). House is located in a neighborhood so there are noises of kids playing, roosters crowing, etc., but really always felt very private despite that. Location 0.5mi stroll down to Cloud 9 Farm was very neat (blueberry picking was fun, despite heat!). Plenty of good area breweries/hiking and short drive into Asheville. Janet was an excellent host and made sure we were taken care of throughout our stay. We’ll be back if we stay in this area again in the future!

Summary: Amazing home. Everything you might need was there and if not just let Janet know. We only asked for a farm tour, but got so much more! Chickens, fresh eggs, bitties, baby rabbits, Leo the cat was our welcome committee, history of the farm, bees and products. Janet can do it all, always busy but never too busy to answer any questions. The home is so relaxing and spacious. Clean!! We can only say good about this property and all the other properties, just amazing! We will be back with our family.

Summary: Silver Lining Cabin and Cloud 9 farm were the best VRBO we have stayed in. The house is beautiful and well appointed with everything that you would need to cook/grill. We loved the hot tub and exploring Cloud 9 farm for chicken feeding, meeting the cows, hiking and paddleboarding. We went to Asheville because we love mountain biking and found some great mountain biking parks and trails (especially loved The Riveter for a rainy day (outdoor mountain bike park), Asheville Adventure Park and Berm Park. We found some great restaurants near the cabin (The Local Joint, Blue Sky Cafe) and in Asheville loved Jeramiah's for sweet treats. Janet was a wonderful host and we would highly recommend. The pictures are great, but it is better in person!

Summary: The home we stayed in was immaculate. Janet provided everything we could have possibly needed and then some. The property was amazing. There were hiking trails, a pond with a gazebo and also a pavilion to grill and just hang out. There were also cows, chickens, and rabbits to feed. The views were spectacular! We will definitely be returning to stay again in the future. Very close to everything (Biltmore Estates was unbelievable and was on my bucket list. Can’t wait to visit there at Christmas time.). Summary: We traveled with our two teenage kids, my mother in law and my husband.. this house was just perfect for us! We loved that its new, excellent location to Chimney Rock, Biltmore, Asheville or anything else you want to see. We fed the cows apples and it was a very relaxing and accommodating retreat. Janet was very responsive and gave us all of the information for our stay.. we will be back.. thank you!

Summary: It was a great house and so much fun! It would be great as a couples getaway, but it was also great for a family of 5! Cloud 9 was right behind it and such an easy walk with kids. They also sell some fantastic honey!

Summary: We stayed in Silver Lining Cabin over NYE weekend and had a wonderful time. The location was great--far enough from Asheville and downtown Fletcher to feel very remote/isolated, but close enough for quick trips if needed. Some cute restaurants/shops in the immediate area as well. Janet was a great host, helped my kids every day with feeding the chickens and cows, took my son and I on a Gator ride, even let me borrow her personal grill when the one at the property was on the fritz! The cabin itself is beautiful and well-appointed. The kids area downstairs was a big hit with my two children (ages 7 and almost 5). They loved exploring the property, seeing the animals, and enjoying the cabin amenities, including bonfires and the hot tub. My son said numerous times, "this is the best cabin ever!" Summary: Family had destination wedding in Ashville, we didn't want to stay at a hotel and were thrilled to find such a lovely place that would accommodate me/hubby, our adult daughter, our son and dtr in law, plus my mom! Heart shaped whirlpool tub inside was excellent. Plus son & dtr in law had their own 2 person hot tub just outside their door. Trails on property meant we could explore without having to drive somewhere, very important on our limited time schedule. Definitely Recommend. Hope to return someday! Host is wonderful.
