Summary: This is a great place to spend a vacation in St. Maarten. The staff bends over backward to help. The rooms are a little dated but this only adds to the rustic charm. As stated in other reviews the airport noise is no problem. It quickly evolved in just a loud background noise! The beach is very clean, the water clear, and the view is amazing.

Summary: We left today after 12 days ! Can’t say enough good things about this place! Everyone was so friendly ! Small restaurant (limited menu) but everything was delicious ! Beach right out your door !! And the grounds are just beautiful ! Loved seeing Molly and Stripe (the dogs of the owners) who roam around and visit ! (We bought a box of biscuits) and it’s a dog friendly resort so there were other furry friends !! Simpsons Bay has so many great restaurants too !!! Just loved this trip !!!!

Summary: Great location. Laid back and casual. Steps from the beach. Quiet and comfortable. Kitchen was really a kitchenette - fine for breakfast/lunch but a bit small for dinners. Good food and drink very close by and a mini market with plenty of food items a short walk away.

Summary: Comfortable rooms (#206) with charming heavy leather couch & chair, fine king 4 poster bed & chests in same style, and many tasteful framed oriental flavored paintings/prints. Eating on high bar on high stools is fine for the tall person & less good for the small one. Eating on the balcony with partial view of sea was a treat. Kitchen is well equipped which we greatly appreciated. Also two sinks in the bathroom- wow! Staff were excellent & helpful. The sea was a bit rough some days and not really swimmable long distance but most days enjoyable. Beach lounge chair material needs updating and more of the large triangular sunshades would have been welcomed. You get used to the planes and in fact kinda like all that action. Overall a very good vacation spot!

Summary: Mary's Boon is the perfect place to stay if you want to relax and be able to walk to the beach in 2 mins or less. My husband and I really enjoyed staying in this villa. It was clean and well appointed. The owner is very easy to work with and alway's answered my many questions right away. The king size bed is very comfortable and the bathroom is spacious. The staff was very accommodating and extremely nice. The beach is beautiful and we liked that the chairs and umbrella's were complimentary. We had all the amenities of the hotel even though the villa is privately owned. Our favorite thing to do was to get our coffee, walk out our door and onto the beach for a long walk. Normally we stay across the bay and go to a different beach each day since we really don't like the beach they have, but not here. We only left to go to a different beach on 2 days because we loved this beach so much. The planes were a bit loud the first day but after that you really don't pay attention to them unless it's the KLM 747 taking off. Then you just have to watch!! Lots of restaurants and night life in Simpson's Bay and Karakters restaurant is a walk down the beach. With the new causeway it was less than 10 minutes to Marigot or 20 to Grand Case. We went to Grand Case for Carnival Night on Tuesday and ate at LeTastivan. Excellent service and delicious food. They close off the street that night for vendors, dancers and music. A must if you come to the island. I would definitely recommend Mary's Boon to anyone that loves to relax and enjoy the beach!

Summary: Spent 2 weeks in a 1 bedroom unit It was perfect for myself, husband & our little dog "Roxanne". We rented a car for the 2 weeks, however, didn't really need it everyday. The beach was lovely & the staff outstanding. Also, met lovely people from Australia and Connecticut we enjoyed hanging out with. Big hello to Ricky & Mark (whom was not there in our time period ). Will definitely try to return one day! !! Thanks to everyone! !!

Summary: Our stay was wonderful. I counted 75 steps to the beach and what a lovely beach, a view of some of the mountains, boats in the harbor-really big personal craft, houses on the hillside, Oh, my!. The people are wonderfully nice at the hotel and on the island. Driving is a bit scary, get the smallest car you can but everyone watches out for everyone else. We had a Mustang convertable and it seemed big but I am not spacially challenged. Very nice restaraunts throughout the island and this location is one of the best for lots of restaraunts. More than can eat at in a month but nothing is well marked so if you're not adventurous, stay home or eat at the hotel. It was very nice too. Not hard to find just 2 right turns and follow the signs. Have a navigator so you can watch the road and he/she can look for the signs. First time is almost a bit scary going to Mary's Boon but after a trip or two it's delightful. Have faith and just keep going. One thing about this island is that if you keep going long enough you'll end up back where you started from Due to mechanical problems our flight was cancelled and we were put up in a fancy, smancy newer hotel on the French side. Impressive place but we decided we liked our little place at Mary's Boon better.

Summary: My daughter attends the med school in Cupecoy so I knew I wanted to stay nearby in Simpson Bay for my high school age daughter spring break. This villa in Mary's Boon was perfect. I had made the arrangements with the owner via email and when we arrived , we were treated as if we were checking into a hotel. The villa is privately owned but in The Mary's Boon compound, so we had all the amenities of a hotel; pool, bar, restaurant, beach beds, maid service and security. The owner was very easy to work with. The villa was immaculate upon arrival with everything we needed. Very comfortable king size bed with tv in bedroom as well as living room. Large bathroom with wonderful shower. It is literally steps from the beach. Karakter, our favorite beach bar is right next door. There are lots of great restaurants just minutes away on the main drag of Simpson Bay. It is the perfect location for visiting if you have a child at the med school! Close enough to be convenient while still having your own great place on the beach. I would definitely stay here again. Very reasonable rates too for a beach front villa. We love Pineapple Pete's in Simpson Bay for lobster. La Cigale in Terres Basses is a fabulous french restaurant that is on the beach with incredible food. Go to Marigot for the market and shopping. Grand Case... Go to Calmos for the day! Definitely rent a car and explore!

Summary: The other 2 reviews hit the nail on the head. We also rented a car and spent the first 2 days touring the island. We went to several of the "must-see" beaches on the island and came to a relatively easy conclusion that we had the best beach on the island. The staff at Mary's Boon was amazing and accommodating in every fashion. For instance, we bought a 4 lb. Caribbean lobster and found out, too late, that we did not have a pot to cook it in. It was late (10 pm) and the kitchen was closed. No worries, we were offered to use whatever we needed from the restaurant! While the resort is next to the airport, the noise was almost unnoticeable and infrequent. In fact, it was really neat to see the planes coming and going, especially the 747 (KLM). Also, the resort is centrally located and is perfect for everything from restaurants to shopping to the night life, and I mean all over the island. The only hang up is traffic, which can be a nightmare by the drawbridge. As I stated in the subject line, I must go back. And I am...soon!
