Positive: Everything. Atmosphere, comfort and location. Food and drinks were amazing. Perfect place where to return after exploring Italy alps.

Negative: Other guests leaving their personal belongings (towel, swimwear etc.) by the pool or in garden overnight or for several hours.

Positive: My family's travel plans changed such that we were in need of a place to stay for one night near Turin. I did a quick search and found Sina Villa Matilde was available for the next night, so I booked it. As it turned out, I really wish we had more than one extra night available to stay there because it was a really great experience. Every person we encountered was extremely friendly. The rooms we stayed in were amazing and the hotel complex itself is just lovely. My wife said it was like something out an old romance novel (complimentary). The pool was great (although I wish they would keep it open until later in the evening). Breakfast in the morning was very good. The wifi was good. Parking was easy inside the gated grounds. We were too late to make reservations to eat at the hotel restaurant, but we had a lovely (and inexpensive) dinner at Pizzeria Ristorante Cappello Verde just a few minutes drive away. If we are ever again in this area, we would stay here again.

Negative: Nothing. Everything was great.

Positive: The Scuderia restaurant was my favourite bit of the hotel, great food, good service, the old stables’ stall dividers and hay baskets artfully used to enhance the experience. The pool and its setting is very pleasant, especially in the exceptional heat this year. The old palazzo is accessible (at breakfast at least when I found it) and is laid out as a comfortable salon overlooking the gardens. Good breakfast.

Negative: Difficult to find, had to ask a local as Google really could not pin point it even when parked right outside! No signage so you have to guess where reception might be, up a steep flight of steps. Not what someone my age wanted to deal with even with modest luggage. Room also only accessible by steps that were only mildly more inviting than a multi-storey carpark. Room difficult to access as key very temperamental, bathroom badly lit for putting on makeup, but there was a kettle, most unusual for an Italian hotel and very welcome. Porter never arrived for my luggage so I was presented with a gift of olive oil, lovely, but services that work are better.

Summary: I shall think hard before staying there again …

Positive: Location spot on just off motorway, excellent breakfast. We walked to an excellent restaurant 5 minutes away.
