Deep in the heart of Tuscany this manor from the 18th century is in one of the most beautiful areas in Tuscany. It was redeveloped entirely however has retained the typical Tuscan architecture. On a property of 44.000 square metres fenced in property, there is a small lake (which is fed by a spring from Monte Amiata), a tennis court, a pool with a big sunbathing area, a boccia court . The big country house was divided into individual apartments on two floors. The house has retained its Tuscan atmosphere and the good utilities. The arrangement is 2 kilometres from Castel del Piano, where the historic centre provides all shops for all daily needs, restaurants, bars, etc. Pienza can be reached in 25 minutes,-Montepulciano, Montecatini in 35 minutes, Siena, the Parco dell'Uccellina in 45 minutes and the sea in an hour by car.
Description of the rural house: The rural house is redeveloped and retained the typical Tuscan architecture with timber beam at the ceiling and parts of the original stonewall in the living-room and bedroom. There are 2 bedrooms, 2 bathrooms (renovated 2024) and a big living-room with a fire-place an a fully eqipped kitchen. It is very comfortable within a heating in all rooms and of course air-condition which guarantee a pleasant climate. There is a large terrace at the first floor and also at the ground floor to have a nice breakfast or dinner outside. The Rustico guarantees the maximum of privacy but also all the benefits of a residence with a large pool including child zone, sports ground (tennis, boccia court, and grill area) which are enclosed and completely fenced. The entrance to the property is through an automatic gate that guarantees the maximum of security.

Summary: Comfortable and well maintained home with beautiful kitchen and well stocked kitchen in a shaded mountain setting in Tuscany. My wife and her 8 year old daughter loved being in the wilderness and having the big communal pool where we were able to make friends with another family. My wife loves to cook and big grocery stores and an artisanal produce shop were minutes away by car. The kitchen was very well stocked with all the tools of the trade. We had the desire to make day trips to small towns and wineries and were really pleased to be in such a beautiful and less populated region of Tuscany. The views were spectacular. I would recommend this home for families hoping to combine short day trips with afternoons by the pool, as well as anyone interested in exploring the Maremma. We ate at a few really wonderful local restaurants which were recommended, and found the whole process to be very easy due to the location of the villa. Another reason we chose the villa was due to the shade, which kept the Tuscan heat from becoming too overwhelming. I’ve travelled through Italy during 40 degree heat waves, so knowing the home is both air conditioned and in the shade of trees was a real plus. A car is vital for this area but parking is easy thanks to the lack of tourism in these particular towns. We had driven down from Florence, which was already chock full of people, so this home was a wonderful respite. Could have spent two weeks or more here!

Summary: When I planned the Tuscany portion of our family trip, I envisioned a stay in the picturesque countryside near small tuscan villages where the tour busses don't stream in. I wanted my family to immerse themselves in the Tuscan lifestyle, mingle with the local people and gain an appreciation for the traditions and values that the Tuscan people hold so dear. Our traditional Tuscan home was spacious for our family of five , well stocked with the comforts of home to enjoy for a week's stay, and absolutely lovely. The property is located less than two miles from a historical village on the way to Mt Amiata with loads of charm and character. It's also well located to travel easily to other historical places for day trips. The scenery in southern Tuscany is absolutely spectacular: an impressive mountain presence, scenic valleys, vast fields of vineyards, orchards, and farmland. It's an incredible ride for cyclists and hiking experience as well. The landscape is even more striking than where I stayed in the Chianti region on Tuscany the last time I visited Tuscany. Our dream transformed into reality during our one week stay. Many thanks to our hosts, Alberto and the Tuscan people for their hospitality during our stay.

Summary: We arrived to a very warm welcome from Alberto and throughout our stay he was around to answer any queries. We had great days lazing by the pool, playing tennis and walking up the hill to Castel del Piano for dinner. Would recommend this place for anyone who wants to switch off and absorb the culture of a beautiful area of Tuscany.

Summary: Location, pool and house were superb. The property is is well furnished exceptionally clean and very well maintained. There are some fabulous restaurants within a few miles drive from the house and also in Castel del Piano which can be reached by foot from a pathway through the vineyards behind the lake. It is only a few minutes drive by car and there are lots of restaurants in the main street and square and some interesting shops. The bakery supplies fresh bread, rolls and pasta The location is peacefull and relaxing but with lots of interesting historic hillside villages and towns to visit with a half hours journey.
